The Giants began practicing on Wednesday for Sunday's NFC Championship Game in San Francisco, and did so without quarterback Eli Manning, who was, according to our Giants Rapid Reporter Alex Raskin, limited at practice and then sent home with a stomach illness.

Fortunately for Manning, it doesn't appear to be something that will affect him throughout the week and is instead an illness of the 24-hour variety.

Tom Coughlin is sounded relatively optimistic when discussing the issue.

"Hopefully it's a 24-hour deal and he'll be better tomorrow," Coughlin said via Raskin.

Sending Manning home is a smart move on Coughlin's part, because there's simply no reason to risk him passing the virus/bug/whatever on to the other members of the Giants.

Is it possible to read a proof-read article?

For once I'd like to read a CBS sports article that has been proof-read, but instead I constantly have to read poorly written articles that butcher the English language. That's what happens when you let anyone write an article without supervision.

It's common to get th ru s when you're scared.... Man, he is going to get batted around..... The Giants are so overhyped because all the media shows are out of New York and only want an NY/Boston Super Bowl... (New Emgland). My favorite? "The Ravens defense looks old". WTF? They are number TWO this season and Suggs eats QBa for dinner... What the Ravens don't have going for them is the stupid Reed comments...Distractions are never good... Giant fans... Get your excuses ready... Wli's little tummy? Injury during the game? Bad calls by refs? Pick one... You're gonna get worked.

Man, I wish the sick people in my office would go home too. At least the Giants have a "common sense" sickness policy...
