B. Pollard tackles R. Gronkowski (US Presswire).By Josh Katzowitz

If Bernard Pollard wanted to ingratiate himself to the Patriots fanbase -- and really, why on earth would he want to do that? -- he’s going about it the wrong way.

While he was interviewed by KILT radio in Houston (via sportsradiointerviews.com), Pollard was asked his opinion about the Super Bowl XLVI matchup between the Patriots and the Giants.

“I really hope the Giants -- I just hope they just put a thrashing on the Patriots,” Pollard said. “I really do. To lose to a team like that the way we played. We played a good game.”

While it’s true that the Ravens played better than expected -- especially quarterback Joe Flacco -- and the Patriots (especially quarterback Tom Brady) didn’t play quite as well as we would have thought, the simple fact of the matter is … well, Pollard will be watching the game on TV. Because sometimes the team that plays better loses the game anyway.

But he makes a good point about the Super Bowl when he said this, “You gotta look at the experience of the team. What do the Giants have? They got a front four that is relentless. They got a secondary that is really, really good. They got a linebacking core that has been with them. The (Patriots) dinking and the dunking, man? It’s just not going to happen. They are going to have to take shots down the field. I think the Giants watch our film and watch the film of the season. They gotta take away their big time players. [Rob] Gronkowski I think he is coming off that ankle, so I don’t know if he will be 100 percent.”

Chances are, Gronkowski won’t be 100 percent. Even though he’s set to play in Indianapolis, the Boston Herald reported today that Gronkowski sustained ligament damage when Pollard tackled him in the third quarter of the AFC title game.

Speaking of Gronkowski and Pollard, what does Pollard think about adding to his reputation as a Patriots killer (first Brady, then Wes Welker and now, Gronkowski)?

“Oh man, that is fine and dandy,” Pollard said. “It is part of the game and this is what happens. If you don’t like it? So what. I am going to go out there and I am going to play me.”

Pollard hopes NYG 'put thrashing on Patriots'

Well Pollard, typical classless cheap shot artist that you are, it is a pleasure knowing you have no idea what it is like to play in a Super Bowl.  What you did to Tom Brady is not part of the game.  It was an illegal hit to the side of the knee with your helmet.  The hit on Gronkowski seemed unintentional, but with your attitude, maybe it is time someone returns the favor to you, as the Pats "dink and dunk" their way to another Super Bowl appearance!  What goes around, comes around.  Oh yeah, the BEST team did win on Sunday!!!!  Enjoy the Super Bowl on your big screen TV!

I want Pollard on my team.  He is a really dirty player.  You don't think so?  Look at the picture of the tackle on Gronkowski.  He was deliberately trying to hurt Gronk.  The pic plainly shows his leverage guaranteeing that his weight falls completely on Gronkowski's lower leg and ankle.  For you dummies that means he threw his feet in the air planning on bringing his full weight down on Gronks ankle.  Believe it or not, it's the truth.  Cheap Shot Raven, luv him.

Pollard hopes NYG 'put thrashing on Patriots'

Why did Pollard just come out and say that ?. Put a thrashing on the Pats. I think he has a feel for the game, and how things have gone so far, and maybe that will happen. You know that it can happen. The Pats cannot thrash the Giants ( unless something awful like Manning not showing up happens), or some outright bad luck. Most likely it will be a tight game with someone pulling out a ten point win. Someone winning outright in convincing fashion ( more than  12 points) could happen, 20 percent chance of this happening. But Pollard is a smart guy and on que here, if he feels the Giants can/will  thump the Patriots, they very well could thump the Pats.

What "cheap shot to brady's knees" is he famous for?  C'mon man that was far from a cheap shot.

Maybe if he didn't give up all those yards and all those catches, Pollard wouldn't be whining like a loser. He is best known to the fans for a cheap shot to Brady's knees and best known to Offensive co-ordinators as the DB to throw toward. Watch the game again and you see Pollard couldn't stay with WRs couldn't handle the TEs and he was a big part of the reason the Patriots had 5 drives of 10 plays or more.

Typical that pollard feels this way, most teams dislike New England because of the winning. The pats never mouth off, always give credit to the opposition whether its the saints steelers browns or jags. But yet throughout the years the Terrel Owens, Rex Ryans, Cromarties, bart scotts, Ray lewis, pollards, mcgahees of the world continue to run there mouths. Mainly because that entire group has 2 superbowls between them. Loss with some class and try to bring it next year
