Earthly temptations do not affect Tim Tebow

By Ryan Wilson

Quarterback Tim Tebow concluded a whirlwind season on January 14 when the Denver Broncos lost to the New England Patriots in the AFC Divisonal playoffs. Four days later, he was at staying at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas for a Nike shoot. (Technically, the Hard Rock is in Paradise, Nevada, which includes much of the Strip, the airport and the aforementioned hotel.)

Innocuous enough except that, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal's Norm Clarke, the Hard Rock was hosting the Adult Video News Awards at the same time. (Possibly awkward, yes, but also a great premise for a bad sitcom that'll miraculously enjoy success despite much scrutiny, outrage and mock indignation from critics.)

Clarke breathlessly writes that "Veteran casino host Steve Cyr told a Las Vegas radio station on Friday that he saw the Denver Broncos quarterback walking through the casino the day the four-day Adult Entertainment Expo opened."

Scandalous.

Luckily, Tebow, whose religious beliefs were often a bigger story last season than his ability to make it as an NFL quarterback, didn't succumb to earthly temptations.

More Clarke: "A second source said Tebow, who was reportedly in town for a Nike shoot, stayed in a Hard Rock penthouse 'most of the time.'"

In a radio interview, Cyr noted that Tebow, his brother, and three friends did emerge from their rooms long enough to take in Cirque du Soleil's "O" at The Mirage, but Tebow didn't drink and "tipped well."

Which, we'd imagine, makes up a typical night out on the town for Tebow. The lesson: What stays in Vegas is not as important as what stays next door to you in Vegas.

Thankfully, Tebow emerged from Sin City unscathed. He was courtside at the Nuggets game Sunday night.

Earthly temptations do not affect Tim Tebow

I like Tim Tebow, I believe he is a great guy and maybe he will improve as a QB in the offseason but this article is not even newsworthy. What next Tim walked by a bar and avoided the temptation to stop for a drink!
TRUE!! i agree with you on all these points and that's really my only issue with this story, what's the point???? just to make a story so people can comment and bash Tebow??? i mean seriously, this isnt newsworthy at all.

Of course he tipped well. He just asked for water, changed it into wine and saved a bundle on his tab. Plenty of money left to tip.

This article cracked me up.  It was light-hearted and that's it. The fact that Ryan Wilson got quotes for the article was funny in itself. I don't really think he was planning on winning a Pullitzer Prize for this.  If people are tired of hearing about Tebow, why in the world would you click on an article with his name on it?

I pull up the occasional Tebow articles to see what tangents arise.  There are usually some funny posts, too.  I think EVERYONE is sick of hearing about every little thing he does, but I think we can all use a laugh.

One poster did bring up an interesting take on Tebow. He asked if Tebow were something besides Christian, would he be vilified like he is? If he were this vocal about being Jewish or Muslim, would the media even give him as much press or would it get swept under the PC rug?

Give it a rest guys. Tebow did not get busted for DUI and did not get busted for selling and transporting drugs. He killed no dog and raped no woman in a bathroom. He just played football and believes in god. You really don't get it, do you. You look small, and many of us are tired of glorifing thugs. We have kids and it matters. One day you may understand.

for someone who is supposedly such a choir boy and a devout christian why would he put himself in such a situation to be compromised. Ive known many a kind who like to think they are above everyone but usually those who proclaim the loudest to be like Tebow are usually the biggest hypocrite. Im sure he is a nice guy and all but please save all the holier than thou crap.

You said it better than I ever could.

It is nice to see that he is a sports figure that kids can look up to and strive to be like.  Not just because of his morals but because he shows everyone that you should never give up no matter how much people say you can’t do something.

As opposed to Pacman Jones, who in a live interview, said:

"I likeded dem scrip clubs."

Tebow would be a good neighbor, Pacman Jones and his brood would make you want to move.

I find it funny that the stories here are under the "EYE ON FOOTBALL" blog. With the irrelevant stories here, maybe it should be called "HEAD UP YOUR @SS FOOTBALL". LMAO

Earthly temptations do not affect Tim Tebow

Wait a sec here, is Tebow's team in the Super Bowl? No??? So why on earth are these articles appearing about him, 5 days before the Super Bowl???

Am I living in an alternate universe or did Tebow and the Broncs get destroyed 45-10 two weeks ago???

Unbelievable - the news media is talking about Tebow, Peyton. etc. Hey guys - there's a SUPER BOWL this weekend, or have you forgotten? Try writing about relevant issues for a change.
