INDIANAPOLIS -- During his Media Day session, Tom Brady received a huge ovation from the fans at Lucas Oil for stating that he hoped Peyton will play a long time with the Colts. Eli Manning also got a loud round of applause for discussing his big brother.

Full Super Bowl Coverage

Asked about Peyton's legacy, Eli said he thinks that Peyton's the best quarterback to ever play in the NFL.

"Peyton has had an unbelievable career. Since I've been watching football, I haven't seen anybody play at a higher level than he has," Eli said. "It has always been my goal to get to his level of football, to get to his level of play. that is something I've worked on."

Eli also said that he and Peyton sleep in bunk beds when they return home, which isn't as legacy-fulfilling, but still kind of awesome. And Eli has a case in his argument for Peyton.

Manning's numbers make him one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play in the NFL. In fact, it's probably just Peyton having won "only" a single Super Bowl that holds him back on the list of all-time greats.

That's incredibly ironic as Eli prepares for a chance at his second one.

Eli says Peyton's the 'best I've ever seen'

@chevy.....it's not easy to pick one quarterback and say he is the best ever and be unequivocably right.  There are many qualities QBs have that help lead their team to success.  Play calling apparently rates pretty high for you, while for others, things like reading defenses, throwing strength, throwing accuracy, calling audibles after he realizes the call from the huddle won't work, winning, championships, touchdown throws, yards, 3rd down pickup pecentage, 4th quarter stats and others will be deemed the most important or will at least factor in highly.

Yes there is a QB rating, but there are factors built in beyond the QBs control, for example a two yard TD run vs a two tard TD pass.  That will greatly afftect QB rating, but the whole point of playing the game is to win, not to amass stats.  As time moves on and the rules change, even gargantuan stats like Farve had in his three consecutive MVP years no longer look as amazing as they were when he acheived them.  Peyton Manning had an amazing win % and passing statistics, I could see why someone, especially his younger brother would vote him as the best ever.  Peyton Manning deserves to be in the argument along with Unitas, Montana and several others.  Based on your biases or values, you can make great cases for probably 10 or so QB as the greatest ever.  I think Peyton Manning is one of those 10.

Eli says Peyton's the 'best I've ever seen'

Peyton Manning is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.  He just isn't on the same level as Tom Brady.  The one thing Peyton is better at than Tom is making commercials.  He has a career after he retires in TV.  But, Tom Brady is still "King."  Five Super Bowl appearances and 6 AFC Championship games in 11 years with the receiving cast he has had to throw to over the years, makes him amazing!

But, then again...Ol` Archie has probably instructed him to say that gibberish. Of course, Goober hasen`t been around all that long, considering that past truely great QBs like Unitis, Starr, Tarkenton. They Always say Gomer, "calls" his plays, but he has a coach in his ear ALL game long, the great ones CALLED their own plays. Thats why comparing todays QBs with the past QBs is pretty damn stupid.

Eli says Peyton's the 'best I've ever seen'

Eli must have some form of astigmatism. Or at any rate, he doesn't see very well.
