In general, Tom Brady leads a charmed life. He's an NFL quarterback, three-time Super Bowl champ, UGG spokesman -- and the cherry on top -- he's married to supermodel Gisele Bündchen. Yes, the Patriots fell to the Giants Sunday night in Super Bowl XLVI, and yes Brady was distraught by the outcome, but in the scheme of things, it won't define his career.

Of course, the criticism in the hours after the loss were swift and, well, critical. Brady was accused of a horrible performance even though he started 20 of 24, broke Joe Montana's Super Bowl completion record in the process, then suffered a Justin Tuck sack that changed everything. He finished the night 7 of 17 and a slightly off-target throw to Wes Welker with four minutes to go ultimately proved to be the difference.

Gisele, who was at the game, had to endure jeers and taunts from Giants fans as she left her suite at Lucas Oil Stadium.

“Eli rules!” screamed one fan. “Eli owns your husband!” yelled another.

Gisele's response?

“You (have) to catch the ball when you’re supposed to catch the ball,” she snapped back, according to CBS New York. “My husband cannot (bleeping) throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times.”

Welker took full responsibility for not coming down with a Brady throw that was also high and behind him.

"The ball is right there," Welker said when asked if he was looking for it on the other shoulder. "I've just got to make the play. It's a play I've made a thousand times in practice and everything else. It comes to the biggest moment of my life and I don't come up with it. It's discouraging."

Brady, for his part, didn't waver in his support of Welker.

"Wes was running down the field and it looked like they messed the coverage up a little bit and I threw it to him," said Brady. "(Welker) went up to try and make it, as he always does, and we just couldn't connect. He's a hell of a player. I'll keep throwing the ball to him for as long as I possible can. He's a phenomenal player and teammate and I love that guy."

Apparently, a TMZ source says that Brady's teammates are "disappointed" and feel betrayed by Gisele's comments.

Gisele can't believe Pats dropped so many passes

I know that she has never played football and I haven't since jr. high, but that doesn't make her wrong.  The Pats receivers and TEs are supposed to be professionals.  In the biggest game of the year you aren't supposed to drop easy passes like that.  I don't think Brady choked, his supporting cast took the entire 4th quarter off.  Brady did his best, Bellichick had the right people in the righ places doing the right things, the receivers, defense and O line just didn't have either the desire or ability to compete.  I agree it takes a whole team to win or lose and Brady wasn't perfect, but in conclusion of the statements I just made, I agree with Gisele that those passes shouldn't have been dropped and were definately a contributor to the outcome of the game.  The Welker pass alone might have sealed a Pats victory.  When you are a superbowl receiver or tight end you are supposed to make those catches plain and simple, regardless of who says it out loud.  There is plenty of blame to go around, but when you are a high profile player on a high profile team in a high profile game the risk of this scruitiny is what you take when you step onto that field.  Maybe that is why they get millions to play a game...They have to take the bad with the good.  Lord knows the players that are being so heavily criticized now are the ones that would be smiling on the front pages of the papers if Manning threw a pick 6 on the last drive and the Pats won.  For that reason I don't feel to bad for those caught in the crosshairs of Gisele's ire.

Gisele can't believe Pats dropped so many passes

can't believe they let Gisele out of the house looking like that haggish. As far as the comments go by this All-Pro wide receiver, let me see you catch a pass with a safety with a full head of steam bearing down on you. When she shows the ability to do that then she can criticize any and evey wide receiver she wants for dropping a ball. Honey shut your mouth and stick to walking on the runway.

I agree with Gisele, how dare those big bulging Giant football players and those little Patriot receivers have the nerve to cause her Tom Tom to lose the game in such a garish manner. How dare they cause so much despair to Gisele that eventually caused her makeup to smudge in public. How dare they do that to her!!!! Those mean Giant defensive backs should offer an apology to Gisele straight away. There is no way that she can face the likes of Halston, et al, at the next duck and goose soire at the Nantucket Inn, being married to a husband that lost twice in the superbowl.

By the way, do you think that the Bowl of Chili and the hot dog that Gisele ate during the game gave her gas????

Gisele can't believe Pats dropped so many passes

who cares what gisele thinks. i dont understand the fascination with these stork women. one of these day she will gain a few pounds and then we can say things about her. if the pata were that good they would have been far enough ahead that one good play would not have beat them.

Gisele can't believe Pats dropped so many passes

Goodness, what an inane article. Mindless CBS Sportsline immaturity showing again. Can't write about the game of football - now they tout Supermodel commentary.

Let's face it - I am not a Pats fan however thay have won 3 Super Bowls - they have lost, but they have made it to t he Championship a lot.

The school boy sportswriting wannabees at CBS Sportsline notwithstanding, I think that Brady, Bellichik and the Pats legacy is fully intact.

I venture a wild guess that folks will remember Brady longer than any of the continuous flow of sewerage they pass off for sports journalism at CBS Sportsline.

The age of New Media sportswriting.

Shallow, inane, without knowledge of the game.

Thst is their motto.

Gisele can't believe Pats dropped so many passes

Who realy cares what she thinks. I couldn't care less what she thought of the game. What next, the opinion of Bill Belicheat's second cousin ? Still I suppose being a model we should be surprised that she can string two sentences together. Is this really newsworthy CBS ???

Gisele can't believe Pats dropped so many passes

I'm sure Gisele has a ton of experience catching balls but when she is not catching balls she should keep her mouth shut about her husband's teamates.
