Jacobs: Gisele needs to 'be cute and shut up'

Jacobs and Gisele are probs not BFFs. (AP)

It was really only a matter of time until someone on a football team got mad at Gisele Bundchen for her comments about Tom Brady's inability to catch his own bleeping passes. But no one expected it to be a member of the Giants.

Latest NFL News, Notes

It was though -- Brandon Jacobs came out and, according to the New York Post's Brian Costello, had some words for Mrs. Brady.

"She needs to continue to be cute and shut up," Jacobs said, when asked about Gisele's comments.

Soooooo. I guess we know where Jacobs won't ever be playing, huh? Actually, although Jacobs comments are technically "rude," and certainly out of line, it's his delivery -- and not the message -- that needs tweaking. He just could've phrased things better, like his teammate Osi Umenyiora.

"That’s her husband," Umenyiora said. "I mean she’s supposed to stay out of things like that. But at the end of the day that’s their relationship and she has the right to say whatever she wants to."

That's the thing; it's not like this is a "women have their place" issue, although Jacobs makes it sound that way with his comments. It's just a "don't create a rift between your husband the quarterback and the rest of the team by screaming about how bad they suck to fans and reporters" thing.

It doesn't do anyone any good for the wife of the quarterback to come out and take shots at the quarterback's targets, since it really only serves to recreate a scene out of a sports movie. The results are, almost always, a rift between the quarterback and his teammates.

Except there's usually a few more games to sort their issues out and win the big game.

I'm glad the spot light has been on Gisele to show she is NOT as hot looking as people thought she might be. Very average at BEST!!

buddy02 -- How many SB trophies has Brady/Belichick earned in the post-Spygate era?  Also, are you still upset at Goodell for exposing Brady and the Pats as the sports fraud of the century?

I take it your a Giant fan(one of those who jumped on the Giant bandwagon.I didn't hear much from any of the Giant fans when they lost 7 games, except at the time they sucked and you know it).For you to say that Bragy is Letting Welker take the blame tells me you didn't watch the post game show,As Brady did take the fault for 2 bad throws in a row.Besides that welker took it like a man and toke the blame by saying he could have caught that pass a thousand the's Branch also said that too.You must like to pick on people that say things you probaly never read. You can say any thing you want about Brady. He still has three SB rings and they are well deserved. So any way untill you get things right and go back and read Brady's comments, keep them to yourself. As for Manning he is a good QB,but he will never be as good as Brady. One more thing dont look for your team to repeat as thir luk had run out.

In order to be cute, Giselle would have to turn the clock back 5 or 10 years. Brady is getting what he deserves. He may be a great QB, but he is a crappy teammate and person. Instead of taking responsibilty for not throwing a very good pass to Welker, he lets him take the blame for dropping the ball. Most recieivers would not have been able to turn their body 360 degrees and still get 2 hands on the ball, much less catch it. Welker usually makes catches like that, buy Brady still should have manned up and said it could have been a better throw. If he hits Welker out in front and on the run, it is a touchdown. Instead he lets his woman call out his teammates and does not defend them. What a jerk. He could learn a lot from the guy he lost to, Eli, about being a better teammate and person. All Eli could talk about after the game was how great his coaches and teammates were, not about how great he is himself. People wonder why Tebow is so beloved, it is because he is the opposite of Brady. Maybe Tom should just retire and move to Hollywood.
