Jacobs and Gisele are probs not BFFs. (AP)

It was really only a matter of time until someone on a football team got mad at Gisele Bundchen for her comments about Tom Brady's inability to catch his own bleeping passes. But no one expected it to be a member of the Giants.

Latest NFL News, Notes

It was though -- Brandon Jacobs came out and, according to the New York Post's Brian Costello, had some words for Mrs. Brady.

"She needs to continue to be cute and shut up," Jacobs said, when asked about Gisele's comments.

Soooooo. I guess we know where Jacobs won't ever be playing, huh? Actually, although Jacobs comments are technically "rude," and certainly out of line, it's his delivery -- and not the message -- that needs tweaking. He just could've phrased things better, like his teammate Osi Umenyiora.

"That’s her husband," Umenyiora said. "I mean she’s supposed to stay out of things like that. But at the end of the day that’s their relationship and she has the right to say whatever she wants to."

That's the thing; it's not like this is a "women have their place" issue, although Jacobs makes it sound that way with his comments. It's just a "don't create a rift between your husband the quarterback and the rest of the team by screaming about how bad they suck to fans and reporters" thing.

It doesn't do anyone any good for the wife of the quarterback to come out and take shots at the quarterback's targets, since it really only serves to recreate a scene out of a sports movie. The results are, almost always, a rift between the quarterback and his teammates.

Except there's usually a few more games to sort their issues out and win the big game.

Jacobs: Gisele needs to 'be cute and shut up'

For many years, Jacobs has been considered an under-achiever.  However, at the end of the day, he now leads the Giants in rushing TDs and has contributed to 2 SB winning teams.  If nothing else, he helps wear down the opposing team as the Giants use him as a battering ram.  He compliments Bradshaw well, especially when both are healthy.  That's why he's still on the team!

Jacobs: Gisele needs to 'be cute and shut up'

"Be cute and shut up"?  Who talks like that these days?  Oh yeah, your typical misogynist.  Being a superbowl champ doesn't give you permission to hate and disrespect women.  I'd like to see the misogynist Jacobs forced to go to some training.  What Gisele said was poor, but if this was Tom Brady's brother (if he has one) who made the comments about the recievers for N.E. would Jacobs have said what he did?  Of course not, Brandon just doesn't like women.  Jacobs is the loser here.  Hope Goodell steps in.

Jacobs: Gisele needs to 'be cute and shut up'

Saigon1975, you sound as stupid as Jacobs and Gisele. Btw, who cares what the team does in regular season as long as they win the big one, the one that counts, that's the one that matters. I would rather have a team that is peaking towards the playoffs and in the playoffs instead of peaking at the regular season than fizzle out in the playoffs like GB did and the Patriots.

BRANDON JACOBS - Please shut up.

The Giants are a classy outfit.  You are the one oddball that incessantly runs his mouth making us feel sorry for the Patriots.

I feel bad for guys like JPP and Manning who have to listen to this chatter all the time.

Act like a champion.  Stop making a fool of yourself with all the nonstop idiotic trashtalking and babble.

Jacobs: Gisele needs to 'be cute and shut up'

Jacobs shares his opinion, Gisele had her opinion.  Exactly why is this a big deal?

Does what he says she says really matters? If this was during the regular season, maybe, just maybe, but the season is over, the Giants won, Brady threw a few lousy passes and his receivers drop a few balls that they normally catches, who cares? It's over, the Giants won and the Patriots lost. Maybe Gisele is mad because now Brady won't be buying her the diamond necklace he promised to buy her IF the Patriots won the Super Bowl.

Jacobs: Gisele needs to 'be cute and shut up'

I don't think I would want my wife saying things like that about my teammates. However, Brandon Jacobs has a big mouth and needs to start running the ball as hard as he runs his mouth. He runs fairly soft for a guy who weighs about 265. I'd like to ask Jacobs if his Giants are such a great team, why do they always play such mediocre football during the regular season and then decide to turn the engine on in late December? Truly great teams know how to put it together for a whole season, not just in December and January. The Giants from the 1980's would put these Giants to shame.

Jacobs: Gisele needs to 'be cute and shut up'

Brandon Jacobs is a SOFT 265 pound 2nd string back up running back.  Giselle is an overrated average looking model.  Why is this news??

loose balls -- let me expand on my post-Spygate comment:

during Spygate, Pats were 12-2 in the playoffs

post-Spygate, Pats are 4-4 in the playoffs

If nothing else, at least you now know why Belichick continued to cheat over a 7-year period, as confirmed by Goodell himself.  it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that Spygate gave the Pats an edge in making the playoffs and then winning during the playoffs.  the only question is how big an edge.  here we are five years post-Spygate with Brady supposedly in his prime and the Pats can't deliver the Lombardi Trophy.  Bottom line -- it's tough to win a SB, and that's why about half the league has never won one.  At this point, you can easily argue that the Pats would never have one a SB w/o Spygate.  In fact, they have proven precisely that over a nearly 40-year period (i.e., pre and post-Spygate)!
