Ahmad Bradshaw takes shot at Tony Romo

Romo

BradshawBy Josh Katzowitz

Just because Tony Romo is coming off another solid season and shrugged off so many of the previous expectations/assumptions about his toughness and ability to play in the clutch, that doesn’t mean we can’t continue to find his fellow colleagues to rip him whenever they get the chance.

I mean, the guy played with a punctured lung (and won!)and then, at the end of the season, he played with a bad hand, but hell, that apparently didn’t really satisfy anybody.

In fact, Romo started every game this season despite a number of ailments and obstacles. Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw was not so impressed.

Bradshaw, coming off his game-winning Super Bowl XLVI touchdown, was asked on the NFL Network if the Cowboys could ever win a Super Bowl with Romo as the starting quarterback. Bradshaw, predictably, doesn’t believe in Romo.

Dallas' quarterbacks
“You know what, man, I don’t see it happening,” Bradshaw said. “I don’t think they believe it, and they’re America’s team.

“It all comes in together. If the fans don’t believe it, the team doesn’t. They’re kinda doubtful with Romo.”

While I'm not sure Bradshaw's reasoning makes sense (since when do players care what fans think about their teammates?), this also isn’t the first time this year a Giants running back has criticized Romo. You might recall Brandon Jacobs saying this in October: “[Eli Manning] is definitely a 100 percent better quarterback than Tony Romo. No question.”

Also criticizing Romo this year? Redskins tight end Chris Cooley and NFL Network analyst Deion Sanders (though Romo also had a pretty big backer (literally and figuratively) in Dirk Nowitzki).

Surprisingly, not everybody, especially those in the Cowboys organization, agrees with Bradshaw (and Jacobs).

“I thought Romo was competing at a level that would’ve given us that opportunity but the rest of us need to play better and get better before we can really gel the way the Giants are,” Jones said at the Senior Bowl last month.

And when CBSSports.com’s Will Brinson caught up with Dallas running back DeMarco Murray during Super Bowl week, Murray defended Romo.

"One week he's a hero, the next week he's not,” Murray said. That's just the way it is with the Dallas Cowboys. We're used to it, we love it and we wouldn't want any one else leading our team."

Obviously, Romo is used to hearing people bash him for a variety of reasons. He tries to turn the other cheek. But he also understands why his vast array of critics say what they do.

"It's just an easy thing to say until you win the Super Bowl," Romo said in November. "Until then any time you lose a game it's a big game. But if you win, then it really wasn't that big of a game. That just goes with the territory."

But from a guy who just won the Super Bowl, Bradshaw’s words can’t feel so good to Romo.

Ahmad Bradshaw takes shot at Tony Romo

The only reason why Bradshaw "took a shot" at Romo was because some stupid sports blogger -as opposed to a real reporter-asked him that question. Why ask anyone that?

And they say women gossip to no point...guys have nothing on them!

Stay classy San Diego. At least if the Pats had won we wouldn't have to hear mean-nothing trash-talking by these asshats. Try to picture it, Brady or Welker going out of their way to trash some random player or worse telling another player's wife to shutup...

Ahmad Bradshaw takes shot at Tony Romo

Since when does choking in big games count as doing it all yourself? Romo is a stats when it doesn't matter guy, he puts up big numbers against bad teams, loses all the big games he plays in and plays horrible in them.
Bradshaw is just telling it like it is, and the only reason he said anything is because some idiot reporter asked. I think most people, and even a lot of Cowboy fans agree with him.

Shocking...a STEELER fan criticizing the Cowboys. Winskin8, jumping on board the Romo hate wagon shouldn't make you feel any better about YOUR QB, Ben Roethlisberger, wonderful human being that he is. Romo is a stand up guy. Can you say the same about yours? Nope.

Romo is a talented athlete and an asset who improves the Cowboys. There have been some failures, clearly, but EVERY player has good games and bad games. IF ANYONE EXPECTS TONY ROMO to take the Cowboys to the Super Bowl BY HIMSELF, it's NEVER gonna happen. He's got to have help from the TEAM...and the coaches...to take the team to the promised land. They weren't good enough...period....and if anything, it's a blessing that the Cowboys failed to make the playoffs so they couldn't go on fooling themselves into thinking they were a better team than they really were...a team not quite ready for the playoffs. The offensive line was an issue, the defense suffered huge breakdowns, and Jason Garrett made some bonehead strategic moves. They need more than a few pieces, and they're not going to win a Super Bowl without them.

Archie Manning never won a Super Bowl, hell, I'm not even sure he SNIFFED the playoffs...but he was agreat QB in his time. The TEAM was awful. The Cowboys are better than the old Aints, but Romo can't be expected to do it on his own.

Bradshaw? He's a punk who should simply keep his mouth shut. What did he gain by ripping Romo? That's just dumb...and not very classy, either.

Jerry Jones? He's no Dan Snyder, I'll give you that.

Ahmad Bradshaw takes shot at Tony Romo

Well, Bradshaw just said what we've all been thinking about Romo. Romo isn't ever going to win anything in Dallas. He is the new age Danny White of the Dallas Cowboys...good enough to get them to the playoffs but not good enough to ever win a championship.

Any cowboy fans that think Romo can take them were the ultimately want to go are fooling themselves. But it couldn't have happened to a better owner the Jerry Jones. He's as dillusional as I've ever seen and he needs a cold hard reality to keep slapping in the face every year until he realizes that he knows NOTHING about football and he needs to turn the team over to real football people.

Jerry Jones doesn't realize that his Cowboys are the failure finality that every football fan looks forward to seeing at the end of every year. We love to see how the Cowboys embarrass themselves in failing. With Jones running down to the field from his booth, showing up his coach on all the big games, with the team being so soft that Eli goes through you like a hot knife through butter. And Eli has a winning percentage in the new stadium too. So do the Eagles. Yep..every year the Cowboys come up with new and inventive ways to fail and embarrass themselves. But now they've added a new element this past season......softness. The Cowboys are as soft as wet toilet tissue. Wilting
in all tough situations. But..teams are a reflection of their coach so..well, you know. Hahahaha.
