For the gambler in you (offseason edition)

MossBy Josh Katzowitz

Occasionally in the offseason, we’ll take the best -- and most clever -- odds collected by Bovada and give our take. This is important stuff, perhaps the most important post you’ll read on this site. Because if you can’t lose money while watching a game in which you have absolutely no effect, what’s the point of watching sports at all?

Will Randy Moss win NFL comeback player of the year for the 2012 regular season?

Yes 5/1

The better question is: will Moss be in the position to win the comeback player of the year? As in, will a team actually sign and, then, play him? Didn’t work out so well for Terrell Owens last year, huh?

Who will sign Randy Moss next?

New England Patriots 5/2

Chicago Bears 7/2

Washington Redskins  5/1

San Francisco 49ers 5/1

New York Jets 11/2

St. Louis Rams 7/1

Dallas Cowboys 10/1

Philadelphia Eagles 10/1

I don’t see the Patriots grabbing him again -- after all, they traded him away last year, and they had a good reason for that. I could see the Jets going after him (we were talking about this last May), especially if Plaxico Burress leaves via free agency. But I’d rather take the bet that Moss isn’t playing at all.

Will Albert Haynesworth play Week 1 of the 2012 regular season?

Yes +110

No -150

With all of my heart I want to say no. But I think he showed enough with the Buccaneers -- plus, he was on his best behavior -- that somebody else will give him a chance. I don’t know if he’ll be playing in Week 17. But there’s a strong chance he’ll be there in Week 1.

He'd look good in Cardinal red opposite Fitzgerald ... but that will never happen.  He doesn't fit the Cards organization who puts a premium on character.. If you doubt that, name the last Cardinal who was arrested.

Some of you guys are so short sighted.  There is no better WR in the game than Randy Moss when he feels he has something to prove (See first year in New England).  Moss definitely feel has has something to prove, after the negative comments coming from Jerry Rice, Cris Carter, and most analyst, also, he really wants to win a Super Bowl.  San Francisco could sign him to a modest 3yr contract with a team option in year 2.  As I stated before, sign free agent WR Steve Johnson.  Oh yeah, for the guy talking about Crabtree getting better, yeah right.  He's a bum and at best will be a possession receiver.  For the other guy saying get real about San Fran making these moved won' win a SB, no, you get real.  They were 2 special teams blunders from going to the SB without a decent WR.  They have the best defense, best kicker, top running game, and one of the best TE.  Add two good WR, and they are golden.

Moss will not play in Chicago. He is not Bear material, and Lovie Smith wouldn't put up with him. Eagles. Write it down.

Bigwillie  Da Bears need Randy Moss!!  sorry buddy...
Wrong. The Bears need a go to, reliable WR; moss doesn't come close to fitting that description.

49'ers should cut crabtree and sign both TO and Moss for half the money.  Let's see how good a coach Harbaugh is motivating these two guys.  Oh, and while he's at it, cut Smith and sign Manning to toss the ball to these knuckleheads

What are the chances the Rams get both Moss and Fat Albert?  They desperately need receiver help, maybe more than any position, and Fischer likely thinks he got the most out of Albert once and can do it again, at a bargain price.
