Tim Tebow and Limp Bizkit vocalist singer crooner screamer Fred Durst had dinner together Wednesday night in West Hollywood, according to a report in the New York Post. Now, some of you might be surprised to hear that, considering Durst’s nu-metal band and Tebow’s brand of philosophy and religion probably don’t mesh all that well together.

But if you think about it, OF COURSE they’d be friendly enough to have dinner together. If there’s any way to turn Limp Bizkit from a terrible creation into something that’s, at best, mediocre, it’d be Tebow’s healing touch.

And since Tebow is into performing miracles, it makes perfect sense that he’d try to save Durst’s floundering career.

Besides, if there’s anybody who can convince Durst to never again screw around with classic songs by George Michael, it’s Tim Tebow. If there’s anybody who can stop Durst from writing lyrics like, “I did it all for the nookie, c’mon/The nookie, c’mon/So you can take that cookie/And stick it up your yeah!” it’s Tim Tebow. And if there’s anybody who can demand Durst never (EVER) end up on a sex tape that somehow gets leaked to the public, it’s Tim Tebow.

Or I could be totally wrong about their conversation. In fact, let’s have a little fun*. Give me your best guess on what the two talked about during their dinner date. Be like Tebow, though (and not like Durst), and keep it clean. Otherwise, we’ll treat like you Limp Bizkit and try to forget we ever heard from you.

*In a perfect world, this contest would have a prize of the Limp Bizkit CD of your choice. But I figured that would be more of a deterrent than a prize, so forget it.

Tim Tebow and Fred Durst: BFFs?

Hey old man Oiler fan, I am a Flames fan and everything u say is wrong, ha ha I kid (kinda) thats whats great about sports and I think fred and tim suck but CBS didnt make me read it so im not gonna cry about it, O and if its in a book it must be true...  Are you talkin about the "black sox" in what year was that?  You should know u were a teen...  My point is for the most part if you want you can just watch the game and dont have to read or watch the och cho show if u dont want.  The super bowl pisses me off with its over the top show but thats mostly because my wife hi jacks it and I end up going to or hosting a party that over half the people only know of tebow lol...

Tim Tebow and Fred Durst: BFFs? sorry my comment went right over your head. I never stated that the game on the field is scripted, although it has happened in the past, perhaps you should read some history. There are even movies and documentaries for you so that you don't have to read.

They are definitely giving you what you want, which explains the Fred Durst story. Enjoy.

Tim Tebow and Fred Durst: BFFs?

Thanks, Pimpslapped.

It is sad, I used to really enjoy investing lots of time and money with sports, even when my teams were (and still are) losing. The shift in sports culture over the past 15 years or so has provided me the opportunity to invest in other passions, while still following my teams through blogs rather than handing over lots of hard earned money to directv through Sunday Ticket, MLB Extra Innings, Centre Ice, etc.

Why is this news? Or perhaps what many are asking..."why is this news on a so-called sports site?"

Because, sports is not about competition is about "entertainment"...smaller
ballparks to allow for high scoring affairs, fantasy leagues, pseudo celebs sitting courtside, Black Eye Peas (I use the term entertainment very loosely here) for halftime shows, Danica Patrick, tailgating, bling, etc.

In addition to the entertainment factor, lots of what comprises "sports" today is scripted and political...affirmative action appointed sideline reporters, ESPN (perhaps the greatest travesty ever to be introduced to sports), halftime interviews, press conferences, title IX, Rooney Rule, etc.

As soon as everyone realizes that competetive sports has left the building, replaced by hollywood style entertainment that is included on TMZ, you all will rest much better.

Tim Tebow and Fred Durst: BFFs?

It's the Jacksonville connection maybe? Both Fred Durst and Tim Tebow grew up in the area.  Whatever the reason I am sure that this article will have more reads on it than most others because Tebow's name is in the headline.

Why is this news? Because they are complete opposites? Or because if you don't report everything Tebow your not an NFL journalist. There are plenty of off season stories to cover better than this. Please.
