INDIANAPOLIS -- If you thought it was impossible for NFL people to fall more in love with Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III, you thought wrong. RG3 proved exactly why on Sunday, shredding the 40-yard dash and looking as fast as expected en route to running an official 4.41 40-yard dash.

Andrew Luck, not exactly known as a speedster, was perhaps more impressive with his unofficial 4.59 40 time, later changed to a 4.67 official time.

Griffin's time (both officially and unofficially) was the second-fastest by a quarterback since 2006, with only Reggie McNeal's time of 4.35 in 2006 beating him out. Russell Wilson of Wisconsin ran a 4.50 40 for the second-fastest time of the day, and Jordan Jefferson of LSU ran a 4.59.

The bump up from unofficial to official doesn't matter too much; Griffin got below 4.4 seconds on an unofficial time and that's all people around the league really need to see.

Griffin ran track at Baylor (and in high school) and his performance at the combine -- on the field, in front of the mic, wherever -- has only continued to cement his status as a lock for top-five status in the NFL draft.

It would be stunning, honestly, if RG3 fell further than the second pick. There's a strong belief that the Rams will hold an auction for the No. 2 pick and that someone will pay a hefty price to move up and grab Griffin.

Which is why folks in St. Louis should be enjoying this almost as much as teams who are chasing Griffin are.

Just to weigh in on the Elway Dual Threat Yes or No Debate...one thought...just because someone throws more than today's runners doesn't mean that he couldn't have been like a McNabb.

So sad! See my wife met me as a fan. Use to go to MSG to see the Knicks all the time before moving out of Central NJ. We don't get Knicks game, so she has no problem with me catching them here. She's right beside me watching TV, knitting or reading a book. She's cool like that! Now back to the subject at hand. Google "Greatest Running QB's in NFL History", and you will find an article by Lloyd Vance. He's an award winning sports author, and he has Elway rated # 8 behind Steve McNair. He pointed out these things in his summary on Elway.

3,417 yards (6th All-time)

461 rushing yards, and 6 rushing TD's in the playoffs.

774 rushing attempts (2nd behind Randall Cunningham)

4 rushing TD's in the SB (Most by a QB)

All BS aside, you and johnnymc are wrong. The numbers don't lie. All I was doing was pointing out what the stats suggest. Go take a look, and then reply to me. And not with the BS. Again, that's a wrap. Look up the numbers, and then tell me that # 7 wasn't a dual threat as a QB. I wasn't saying that he relied on his legs to win, just that he had the ability to use them. Can't wait to hear back from you.

So sad!!! See, my wife met me as a fan. We no longer leave in the Tri-State area and don't get the Knicks on TV, so she has no problem with me following the game here. She's usually right beside me watching TV, or knitting etc. Nice try..., but back to the subject at hand. Google 10 Greatest Running QB's in NFL History. You'll find an article by Lloyd Vance, an award winning sports writer. He has Elway listed as # 8 behind Steve McNair, and has these things to add about John Elway.

3,417 yards, 6th in NFL history.

774 rushing attempts (2nd to Randall Cunningham by 1).

461 rushing yards with 6 rushing TD's in the playoffs.

4 SB rushing TD's (Most by a QB).

I know what I'm talking about. Johnnymc was wrong, and so are you. The proof is in the stats dude! Numbers don't lie. Now all BS aside, looking at these stats it's clear to see that John Elway was a threat with his legs. There have been a lot of QB's in the history of the NFL and they don't have the rushing numbers of # 7. In my opinion that made him a dual threat. Not saying that he relied on his legs to win, but that he had the ability. Now, don't reply with BS, because I'm done with that. Look at the numbers, and then tell me that

LOL..., learn to spell. And you told me to calm down? You're so riled up you can't even spell correctly, or is that a characteristic from being inbred? Again, you make comments about me being online talking with fellow sports fans, but here you are. What an idiot you are. See, today I have all day to do this because the wife, and kids are at the movies. See, you don't know me. Yeah my team is horrible, but guess what? I still support them because I'm not a fair weather fan. You tried to sound intelligent, but failed again.

BTW ~ It was clear to anybody with an ounce of education that the 4.4, and 33 TDs were for his career. There might be other straight pocket passers with those rushing stats, but I doubt it. How bout you be a good little boy, and go find that out for me?
