INDIANAPOLIS -- If you thought it was impossible for NFL people to fall more in love with Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III, you thought wrong. RG3 proved exactly why on Sunday, shredding the 40-yard dash and looking as fast as expected en route to running an official 4.41 40-yard dash.

Andrew Luck, not exactly known as a speedster, was perhaps more impressive with his unofficial 4.59 40 time, later changed to a 4.67 official time.

Griffin's time (both officially and unofficially) was the second-fastest by a quarterback since 2006, with only Reggie McNeal's time of 4.35 in 2006 beating him out. Russell Wilson of Wisconsin ran a 4.50 40 for the second-fastest time of the day, and Jordan Jefferson of LSU ran a 4.59.

The bump up from unofficial to official doesn't matter too much; Griffin got below 4.4 seconds on an unofficial time and that's all people around the league really need to see.

Griffin ran track at Baylor (and in high school) and his performance at the combine -- on the field, in front of the mic, wherever -- has only continued to cement his status as a lock for top-five status in the NFL draft.

It would be stunning, honestly, if RG3 fell further than the second pick. There's a strong belief that the Rams will hold an auction for the No. 2 pick and that someone will pay a hefty price to move up and grab Griffin.

Which is why folks in St. Louis should be enjoying this almost as much as teams who are chasing Griffin are.

Unbelieveable time by RG III. That said, Luck's time was pretty impressive too.

LOL!!! I continue to laugh at you because you are a childish nitwit. "Don't you have any friends to watch the games with". LOL, please follow a question with a question mark. How old are you? And this was really funny. I guess you are friendless yourself to know that I comment 50 times a game when the Knicks are playing? You're bringing a knife to a gun fight, chump!! You're not ready to talk sports with me. You are not on my level, and never will be. I bet you always got picked last when choosing up teams, so you come on here and try to front like you know what you are talking about. Keep the comedy coming. I'm enjoying the laughs...

I am not against RG3, I like him. I am against the hype. I see it creeping into signing day in college football. He is good but my guess is that Kelil will play far longer and has to bang heads with some of the most nasty humans to ever wear an NFL uniform. Every play. It is a team game. I look at the size of these linebackers and the hieght of the DL and I want a 6'- 8" QB. If you look at JP-Paul. I submit that is where the NFL defenses are heading. I have seen the recruits for colleges this year, 6"-7" is way common than I have ever seen before. "Tall Ball" I shall call it.

LOL..., you are too funny. 3 offseason training camps compared to 1. And you had the nerve to call me a fool. Debating you is like debating a child. Who ran, and hide? I simply pointed out that Stafford is in his 3rd year, and threw 1 more INT than a rookie. The only person looking stupid so far is you. The fact that you called me a fool illustrates that you are a mere child that resorted to name calling when I informed you of how ridiculous your comparison was. Again, that weak score of 35 speaks volumes about your sports knowledge!!

Isn't it naptime for you little boy?

LOL..., lionstitch how many years has Stafford been in the league, compared to Cam? See this is what I'm talking about! Newton had a GREAT year. Let me repeat that. NEWTON HAD A GREAT YEAR, and for you to try to downgrade that by comparing him to a 3rd year pro shows that you jut don't get it. Stafford threw 1 lees INT than a rookie coming off of 1 year of D1 college football. LOL..., do you see how ridiculous that comparison was? Cam was not the reason for the Panthers record. That offense was dreadful, and Steve Smith an afterthought before Cam.

So to answer your question, give me Cam. He proved all the doubters wrong, and when Carolina gets healthy on D, and adds moe to that team he will be all the QB that Stafford is, and more!
