The NFL has summoned former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams to New York City on Monday for more discussions with security officials about alleged violations of the league's bounty rules.

The meetings with NFL officials, including a possible sit down with commissioner Roger Goodell, come in the wake of new reports that Williams ran illegal bounty programs during his stints with the Redskins and Bills.

New Orleans' forgettable offseason
Obviously, this is terrible, though not unexpected, news for the current Rams defensive coordinator, recently hired for Jeff Fisher’s new staff in St. Louis.

In an email to The Associated Press, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello wrote, the league will continue "addressing the issues raised as part of our responsibility to protect player safety and the integrity of the game."

Already, Williams has apologized for his actions, saying, “I want to express my sincere regret and apology to the NFL, Mr. Benson, and the New Orleans Saints fans for my participation in the 'pay for performance' program while I was with the Saints. It was a terrible mistake, and we knew it was wrong while we were doing it. Instead of getting caught up in it, I should have stopped it. I take full responsibility for my role. I am truly sorry. I have learned a hard lesson and I guarantee that I will never participate in or allow this kind of activity to happen again.”

Of course, that statement was released before we knew about the possibility of the programs in Washington, where he was the defensive coordinator under Joe Gibbs, and Buffalo, where he was head coach from 2001-03.

And while there has been a report that Williams would face a fine but not likely a suspension -- again, before we heard about Washington and Buffalo -- I’m guessing Goodell is going to leave all disciplinary options open after listening to what Williams has to say.

Also, where is your rebuttal to all the players saying its part of the game? You just say insecure much? You show lack of substance or knowledge. Your a pompous ass that has no marbles. Just because you call someone an idiot doesnt make you right. It shows your lack of understanding.

Hmmm I mean almost ever player and ex player say its their goal, but I can see a guy who got beat uo his whole life knows more. I mean you played the game at a high level like these guys that know more. You are lacking balls and thats why you were probably picked last in dodgeball.
Insecure much?
Do you think players who make millions give a damn about entertaining you.
Not at all. Obviously, that's why they invent touchdown dances, wear special shoes, do interviews, appear on talk shows, land movie and TV roles, cut CDs, do commercials, tweet and call press conferences - because the don't give a damn about entertaining.

Idiot.

Do you think players who make millions give a damn about entertaining you. They care about winning and getting paid! Yet again, the Saints made no illegal hits with intent to hurt. They played within the rules. People like you keep assuming they did not. Grow a sack and maybe you will be ok or maybe your so old they are hitting your knees and forgot you had them.

These are warriors whose goal is on every play to hit somebody so hard to knock them out.
This is the type of idiotic nonsense that drives today's NFL "fandom". No, dumbass, they're not "warriors". They're entertainers. They put on exhibitions of sporting events for entertainment. Their "goal" is not to "hit somebody so hard to knock them out", and it never was. Their goal is to make money playing a game that entertains the public. The very word "game" implies rules, and the rules are there for a reason, as are concepts like "sportsmanship" and "character".
This is what happens when insecure people don't learn self-esteem from their parents. They invent this arbitrary, BS purity test of manliness and pretend they uphold it (they don't. They just demand that others uphold it, and if it isn't upheld, they whine like little b****es), overcompensating for some lacking.

It's not a bloodsport, junior. It's just a stupid game. Get over it. Go build your own self-esteem. Grow up.

Ok so the Saints get hit with suspensions and fines and loss of draft picks..... then the NFL goes against the Redskins, Bills, Jags & Titans teams that Thug Maker Williams coached prior to New Orleans.

The end result is that the Rams will be able to potentially compete with teams who pay the price for Williams decision to put the bounty program in place. It is Williams benefit to come out and say I am so sorry I did this it was wrong blah blah blah..... a self serving act of contrition in my book.

So I'm right.  But I'm too mean.  Says the guy who called me a douche and a porn addict.  And no Aint's fan on here has hurled an insult or behaved childish... yep, he went with that.  There's a lack of reality and honesty for you.
