On Monday night, CBSSports.com's Ryan Wilson passed along a report that Randy Moss, currently a free agent, would be working out with the Saints on Tuesday. Some interesting reports have surfaced surrounding Moss since then.

Latest NFL News, Notes

For starters, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Moss has a pair of other tryouts lined up for next week. And more importantly, Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports that Moss "lit it up" in his workout with the Saints.

"Hearing from multiple sources re Randy Moss workout today he lit it up. Was told he ran about 45 routes and 'looked like the old Randy,'" Glazer tweeted on Tuesday afternoon.

If this is accurate, it's fascinating. And not just because no one expected any good news out of New Orleans for a while, hey-o. Moss has already rebounded once in his career from a season where he looked to be finished as an NFL player (in 2006, with the Raiders) to post record numbers the following year (in 2007, with the Patriots).

So it's not unfathomable that he could do the same thing again. Sure, he's several years older and took a year off of football this time. But Moss' game is predicated on speed, and if his speed is back and he's able to torch defensive backs on vertical routes, he's going to draw interest from teams in the NFL.

And even if the reports of Moss performance are being overblown a bit, he should still expect to hear his phone ringing more often in the coming weeks.

Lol, "lit it up", ok. Was he in pads with someone covering him? Uh no. However, he'll wind up somewhere, there's always a team looking for lightning in a bottle, that needs a deep threat & has the cap room.

Report: Randy Moss 'lit it up' at Saints workout

Randy Moss would be taking Meachems spot im guessing, If he got it together and hes training harder than ever add some cuts to his game i can see where he can be very effective for the Saints, I also dont understand the comments the Saints are falling fast, they are still a top team in the NFL, a couple of bad press stories and its done for them? The games played on the field not in the press box. They do have a lot of tough choices none of which was made any easier this last week. I have faith the Saints current coaching staff will pull it all together in time for the season. "Who Dat Say They Gonna Doubt Dem Saints, Who Dat"

Report: Randy Moss 'lit it up' at Saints workout

I love what my Texans has done by building through the draft and picking up top notch free agents like Jonathan joseph But now it's time to realize we are right there with all of the favorites to pickup Betsy. For those who don't know who betsy is that's the champion Ship trophy. That's what (Mike Tomlin ) calls her. It's time to make a Bold move and pick up someone like a Randy Moss. That would be making a strong statement to the league. We want to win and win now. Lets bring Betsy to Htown. Go Texans

That organization is headed over a cliff in a hurry. Man talk about adding fuel to an already volitile fire.

How do you light up a workout?  By catching deep balls on practice players going half speed?  Catch all your balls out of the JUGGS machine??  Look great stretching??  Practice your Cris Carter sideline drills??

I don't get it.

After the brees comments about his contract this would make sense. I see a lot of quit in the Saints and bring on another quitter is par for the course. The Saints run is over. It was fun while it lasted. Brees is just to greedy.

Report: Randy Moss 'lit it up' at Saints workout

Hey, Patriot fans. Randy Moss played 3 years for you and scored 47 touchdowns! How many receivers in today's NFL are capable of that? Megatron maybe. He's probably lost a step or two, but I have no doubt that he'd be capable of 1,000 yards and 10 TDs if he was a regular part of someone's offense. I know, I know. Randy plays when he wants to play. Well, maybe he wants to play?
