On Monday night, CBSSports.com's Ryan Wilson passed along a report that Randy Moss, currently a free agent, would be working out with the Saints on Tuesday. Some interesting reports have surfaced surrounding Moss since then.

Latest NFL News, Notes

For starters, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Moss has a pair of other tryouts lined up for next week. And more importantly, Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports that Moss "lit it up" in his workout with the Saints.

"Hearing from multiple sources re Randy Moss workout today he lit it up. Was told he ran about 45 routes and 'looked like the old Randy,'" Glazer tweeted on Tuesday afternoon.

If this is accurate, it's fascinating. And not just because no one expected any good news out of New Orleans for a while, hey-o. Moss has already rebounded once in his career from a season where he looked to be finished as an NFL player (in 2006, with the Raiders) to post record numbers the following year (in 2007, with the Patriots).

So it's not unfathomable that he could do the same thing again. Sure, he's several years older and took a year off of football this time. But Moss' game is predicated on speed, and if his speed is back and he's able to torch defensive backs on vertical routes, he's going to draw interest from teams in the NFL.

And even if the reports of Moss performance are being overblown a bit, he should still expect to hear his phone ringing more often in the coming weeks.

Did i see someone say you can find a Wr with 4.3 speed. Then why is everyone so happy that the guy from notre dame ran a sub 4.5. Love him or hate him, these kind of cars don't pass you everyday.  AJ green had a good year and he had dalton throwing to him. I think he's a better passer than duante culpepper and look at the numbers culpepper put up with moss. Moss set records as a rookie. Moss was with 2 of the top 10 QB TD performances of all time over the course of a season. This is not by coincidence. And the over the middle thing, He is 6'4". Guys that big should never  go over the middle just ask al toon. This is what is referred as being humg out to dry in NFL terms. Randy moss is 6'4, runs sub 4.4 and his hands are large and excrete stick 'em. He makes the ridiculous seem sublime.  Regardless of numbers he is the best i have ever seen and i saw jerry rice's whole career. Wes welker is a cold bad-ass and i wouldn't say either of them were nearly as good as  Moss. Moss is like Mayweather. Both are athletic anomolies that people want to see fail. I went to Ball State University and we generally hate moss for what he did to us but damnnnnnn! Look it up, Marshall Vs. Ball State his stats were mind blowing. That's when he started making a believer out of me.

Ah Randy Moss the single most overrated WR the NFL had ever seen.
wait what?
..since you are obviously fond of hyperbole, I think that is the most ridiculous statement ever made.

ok granted he is washed up and over the hill now and it surprises me he even got a workout but c'mon.  you can dislike him as a player/human being/whatever but he was good and that is hard to deny

The ONLY possibility.

This team is virtually the ONLY chance he has to play any kind of meaningful football. If he signs, maybe Brees won't mind so much to being franchised....

Story is a lie. Football season is over and everyone knows that teams only tryout free agents right before summer. Is it before summer? Hardly!

Ah Randy Moss, runs over a cop with his car, doesn't hardly get punished.

Ah Randy Moss who's only talent is run straight ahead, turn, jump, and catch the ball, anything else he won't do cause he thinks he is too important.

Ah Randy Moss trying out for a team that was just proven to take bounties in hopes of injury.

Ah Randy Moss the single most overrated WR the NFL had ever seen.

Look good at the interview but will revert back to the "Me Me Me" player that he is.  Who won't throw to him and who is not giving him enough love.

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig.
