On Monday night, CBSSports.com's Ryan Wilson passed along a report that Randy Moss, currently a free agent, would be working out with the Saints on Tuesday. Some interesting reports have surfaced surrounding Moss since then.

Latest NFL News, Notes

For starters, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Moss has a pair of other tryouts lined up for next week. And more importantly, Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports that Moss "lit it up" in his workout with the Saints.

"Hearing from multiple sources re Randy Moss workout today he lit it up. Was told he ran about 45 routes and 'looked like the old Randy,'" Glazer tweeted on Tuesday afternoon.

If this is accurate, it's fascinating. And not just because no one expected any good news out of New Orleans for a while, hey-o. Moss has already rebounded once in his career from a season where he looked to be finished as an NFL player (in 2006, with the Raiders) to post record numbers the following year (in 2007, with the Patriots).

So it's not unfathomable that he could do the same thing again. Sure, he's several years older and took a year off of football this time. But Moss' game is predicated on speed, and if his speed is back and he's able to torch defensive backs on vertical routes, he's going to draw interest from teams in the NFL.

And even if the reports of Moss performance are being overblown a bit, he should still expect to hear his phone ringing more often in the coming weeks.

Sure, why wouldn't he still be fast or have high hops? Realistically, he only played around 6 or 7 real seasons! Those last few years in Minnesota & 2 years in Oakland we're vacations LOL He only played all out for 1 year in New England & expected Belichick to give him a long term deal LOL I remember Moss being timed on a replay in 2010 on live TV when he ran 40 yards in less than 4 seconds. He's still in his late 20's in football years. His mind is like in his Late 90's

HAHA...go for it Ravens sign Moss and see how tolerant he is of Flacco & Rice being the primary option.  Remember trading for ex-Bills that`s what ya get...'he dropped it."  Better luck next year. Tell Ray-Ray what a bounty is so he can deny that too.

Oh yeah Moss ran go routes and hauled in TD`s like crazy...so let`s get that Saints D out there & a bounty on Moss then we`ll see how good he is.  What an awesome fiasco, glad it`s taken over the tired Peyton Manning v Jim Irsay stuff.

NO HE IS NOT....Careful with your words...."one of the best" should translate into TALENTED...yes he has put up some very good numbers but the word "BEST" should consider all facets of the game...and attitude professionalism. That alone takes him out of consideration in my book. When I think of "One of the BEST" when it comes to receivers I think of...Reggie Wayne, Jerry Rice, Tim Brown, Larry Fitzgeralld, Andre Johnson, and I have to say Hines Ward...thats tough for me to say being a Bengal fan.

Moss doesnt' want to play anymore!  He's just looking for the signing bonus so he can coast until the team gets sick of him and he gets the axe!  If you're in the NFL and you can't get motivated to play in the greatest league, you're in ID10T.  It was nice to see his old a$$ get bounced from team-to-team two seasons ago and they all bascially said you suck........now leave!

Heatwave, Moss will be happy if he is getting a paycheck in New Orleans (frankly, anywhere).  Moss will be happy if someone gives his old butt a chance.  He won't cause problems in New Orleans.  If you do cause problems in N.O., you are out the door, and then free to rat out the team for their incentive hits. Very few troublemakers get signed in New Orleans, and none last.

This is not a surprise (that Moss impressed during a workout for a future employer), however the issue with Moss the last few years has been motivation.  Sure he impressed at this workout but to say that he is going to put in that kind of performance week in and week out is highly unlikely based on his recent duties with NE.  If he couldn't get motived for Brady what makes him think he's going to be motivated with Brees?  They are not going to feature him any more than NE did.  NOLA likes to game plan around a different WR target always every week to keep defenses guessing.  The Saints focus more on RB than NE has so what makes anyone think that Randy will be any happier in Saints land?

Ravens should pick him up, can't be any worse than that pass dropping Lee Evans. Ray Ray and Co would keep him in line.
