On Monday night, CBSSports.com's Ryan Wilson passed along a report that Randy Moss, currently a free agent, would be working out with the Saints on Tuesday. Some interesting reports have surfaced surrounding Moss since then.

Latest NFL News, Notes

For starters, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Moss has a pair of other tryouts lined up for next week. And more importantly, Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports that Moss "lit it up" in his workout with the Saints.

"Hearing from multiple sources re Randy Moss workout today he lit it up. Was told he ran about 45 routes and 'looked like the old Randy,'" Glazer tweeted on Tuesday afternoon.

If this is accurate, it's fascinating. And not just because no one expected any good news out of New Orleans for a while, hey-o. Moss has already rebounded once in his career from a season where he looked to be finished as an NFL player (in 2006, with the Raiders) to post record numbers the following year (in 2007, with the Patriots).

So it's not unfathomable that he could do the same thing again. Sure, he's several years older and took a year off of football this time. But Moss' game is predicated on speed, and if his speed is back and he's able to torch defensive backs on vertical routes, he's going to draw interest from teams in the NFL.

And even if the reports of Moss performance are being overblown a bit, he should still expect to hear his phone ringing more often in the coming weeks.

Brees to Moss for a 65-yard TD has a nice ring. I can see it work. Now quit bogarting ... it's puff, puff, pass!

Actually TO has not been a team killer in the last two stops in the NFL. He was a model player in Cincy and my beloved Buffalo Bills. That persona of TO being a team killer is no longer warrranted IMO.

Failing to finish routes and poor effort does not sit well in any locker room. The preferential treatment for the prima donna gets very old which is why no team wanted to take a shot on him last year. This behavior defines Randy Moss.

How do you justify that Randy's production in Tennessee last year was better than 90% of the WR's in the league. If this was an accurate statement then some team would have signed him last year after his release.

Buyer beware this guy will cripple a team's chemistry.

Homies!  Save your money on this one.  This guy is a magician that has loss his magic bag.  He carries his ATTITUDE in that bag but, he doesn't always bring his bag to the games.  Fool me once, it's on you.  Fooled me twice, it's on me homie.

NBA and NFL hates guys over 30. even if they can play. if they didnt T.O would be dominating, iverson would be in the NBA scoring 30 ppg
Haha what are you smoking? TO and Iverson don't have jobs anymore because they were prima donna locker room cancers. Plain and simple. If you can still play, teams will sign you, as long as you're not going to be a distraction. To put Manning or Brady in the same category as TO, Iverson and Moss is just asinine.

Assuming the NFL lets the Saints field a freeking team, given all the hysteria over the bounty story, this could be interesting. The way Brees likes to spread it around; would Randy's diva side come out...or has he matured past that? B/c if he could keep the attitude straight; and prove to be half the weapon he was in his prime; just think what Brees could do with a true home-run threat in his arsenal. They'll HAVE to score about 60 points a game just to break 500...with half of the defense suspended from a defense that wasn't very good anyway, things will be rough.

What about his 2nd stint in MN, he destroyed the locker room in about 1 week, even influencing Percy harvin negatively. And that's only what the press told us about.
