On Monday night, CBSSports.com's Ryan Wilson passed along a report that Randy Moss, currently a free agent, would be working out with the Saints on Tuesday. Some interesting reports have surfaced surrounding Moss since then.

Latest NFL News, Notes

For starters, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Moss has a pair of other tryouts lined up for next week. And more importantly, Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports that Moss "lit it up" in his workout with the Saints.

"Hearing from multiple sources re Randy Moss workout today he lit it up. Was told he ran about 45 routes and 'looked like the old Randy,'" Glazer tweeted on Tuesday afternoon.

If this is accurate, it's fascinating. And not just because no one expected any good news out of New Orleans for a while, hey-o. Moss has already rebounded once in his career from a season where he looked to be finished as an NFL player (in 2006, with the Raiders) to post record numbers the following year (in 2007, with the Patriots).

So it's not unfathomable that he could do the same thing again. Sure, he's several years older and took a year off of football this time. But Moss' game is predicated on speed, and if his speed is back and he's able to torch defensive backs on vertical routes, he's going to draw interest from teams in the NFL.

And even if the reports of Moss performance are being overblown a bit, he should still expect to hear his phone ringing more often in the coming weeks.

The only thing Randy can light up is a marajuana pipe.....

Go ahead Saints take him if you want to have chaos in your locker room..He is not a team player. See Vikings and Patriots.

NBA and NFL hates guys over 30. even if they can play. if they didnt T.O would be dominating, iverson would be in the NBA scoring 30 ppg
WRONG. They dont like thugs after 30 beause there is little upside and the chance to actually hit maturity has come and gone. T.O. wasn't given the same chance Moss will get because of his stupid fckn mouth. And Iverson ...well you get the point.

Randy may have been outstanding in his workout but why would any team want this guy in the locker room or on the field. This is a person who demonstrated that he will quit on his team. Head Coaches and Team Owners be warned you are not going to be the Power Ball winners that figure out how to motivate Randy.
Because even when he quits, he is still better than 90% of the WR's out there. When he is on, there is no one better. At the bargain basement price of what a team will probably get, why not? In the locker room? Havent heard many complaints coming out of the locker room on this guy, he's definitely not a team killer like T.O. Which is the biggest difference between those guys. T.O. is a team killer, Moss only hurts himself.

As a team, I say you give him a shot and hope for the best. If he doesnt pan out, you send him on his way.

I hear Moss lights to light it up on occasion, but isn't there a drug policy against that?  And to do it so brazenly at a workout for a prospective employer?  Ah, but Moss will be Moss.  LOL

The team that takes a shot on Randy may get 6 games of production from him but when it comes time to step up and answer the bell Randy will be the one complaining and not working for the benefit of the team.
