Don't worry, potential suitors, he has a condo in Florida. (CBS Miami's Facebook page)

It's been a busy day for Peyton Manning, formerly of the Indianapolis Colts. He and Colts owner Jim Irsay held a joint press conference at noon Wednesday to announce that, after 14 years, the team and its longtime franchise quarterback were parting ways. It was an emotional scene.

But time, as they say, waits for no man. So while Indianapolis continues to remake a franchise that was wildly successful during the Manning era, the franchise's former quarterback contemplates his future. (Even though he said during the press conference that “I haven’t thought about where I’ll play," we're guessing he has.) Which might explain this bit of news: according to CBS Miami, Manning arrived in South Florida via private jet Wednesday afternoon.

"FYI, Peyton Manning is on the ground, he landed at Opa-Locka Airport and just got off his plane just before 4:30 p.m.," CBS Miami posted on its Facebook page. "Not likely to sign today, he owns a condo down here."

The Cardinals organization is collectively having heart palpitations at the news, even if Manning signing with the Dolphins isn't imminent. If nothing else, it gives Manning negotiating leverage when the Cards, Fins, Redskins, Seahawks and other potential suitors queue up to bid for his services (and we still don't know if and when he'll be back to his pre-multiple-neck-surgeries form).

CBS 4 caught up with Manning in a parking lot where he had stopped to speak to reporters. "It was tough for me," he said of leaving the Colts and becoming a free agent. "It was really hard, but now I realize that process has to start. I haven't thought about teams ... It's all new to me."

Inevitably, Manning was asked about his interest in the Dolphins (he's in South Florida, after all).

"The Miami Dolphins have a great organization there," he said before reiterating that he has no idea which teams are interested in him or how this process works. "I truly missed just playing quarterback this year. ... I realize I'm not gonna play forever, and I think I'm gonna know the time to stop playing."

Yes, Wednesday was the end of an era in Indy, but we shouldn't feel sorry for Peyton just yet.

Peyton Manning's run as quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts ended Wednesday, when owner Jim Irsay announced the team would release its best player. Manning said his emotional goodbye to the team, the fans and the city of Indianapolis.

Peyton Manning flies to South Florida Wednesday

First round draft choices, especially #1 overall picks are guys who are generally expected to come in and contribute from day 1.  There was no chance in you know where that the Colts would keep Manning and draft Luck #1 overall.  I know the Packers used a first round pick on a QB that rode the bench for 3 years but it's a lot easier to sit the #23 pick versus the #1 pick.  I'm not saying I disagree with the idea because I don't, just saying there's no way that would/could have happened.

Peyton Manning flies to South Florida Wednesday

Reports have it that he flew there to pack up his house and sell.  The housing market in Florida is atrocious.
That makes no sense.  Why would he pack up his house down here and sell it if the housing market in Florida is atrocious?!?  You don't buy high and sell low, duh.

I also think this doesn't mean he's signing with with Dolphins soon, or at all.  This time of year, where are you gonna go?  Miami or Indy?  I mean it was a little cool (mid-70's) and rainy here today, but it's supposed to go down to 33 tomorrow night in Indy vs. 71 in Miami.  If he flew to Phoenix or DC or Cleveland that might mean something.

As for the people STILL comparing Manning to Favre, this is NOTHING like Farve's situation.  Manning has not retired or even mentioned retirement.  He was cut by his team because they're looking towards a future with Andrew Luck and couldn't afford to re-sign Manning as part of that plan.

Dont cont the Niners out yet. They have been flying under the radar this whole offseason. Why havent they resigned Alex Smith? It could very well be for reasons like this. To me I count out SEA, and ARI mainly because SF is the team in that divison now that is a monster to be messed with. The Jets are counted out cause this is Eli's place, he is not gonna come over here and steal spotlight from his brothers, plus what kind of legend QB would want to play with a dismantled locker room and a big mouth coach? MIA, WASH should be the favorites.

The Colts blew it on this one!  Manning could have stayed, played for another 3-4 years, and then had Luck take over.  Everyone knows it takes a good 1-2 years before being ready to play in the NFL.  If I were Luck I would have prayed for the opportunity to learn from Manning.  In my opinion that option would have been second to none.  Now another young QB will have that opportunity.

The Peyton Manning to Brandon Marshall combo would be almost impossible to shutdown.  Marshall is a monster with low level quarterbacks.  If he gets a Peyton nobody will be able to stop them.  Let's just hope Marshall doesn't go crazy or something, that is always a possibility.

Look real close.  Is that Brett Favre stepping off the plane?
Nope, that's a humble champion who is, even with fused vertebrate, better than any quarterback your miserable excuse for a team has ever been able to field.

Peyton Manning flies to South Florida Wednesday

Enough with the comments about him signing with the Dolphins.  It was already explained that he has a home there.  Move on already.  Now we can speculate a story for every team in the league.  Im sure every person on earth has inserted him into their favorite teams' lineup and thought it was smart.  Sensible teams that are one step from a championship are the most logical approach for him and that is where I am going to draw the line here.

1.San Francisco - GM just announced non-interest (damn, that was a stupid decision.  SF should be looking for a new GM).

The end.

Washington is garbage.  He will get killed there.  He has a neck issue, remember?  If its NOT a money issue, as Peyton says, then the Redskins have a better chance of resigning Doug Williams.

The Jets?  Really?  No.  I live in NJ and am already sick of this dream by the media.   Brothers sharing a stadium?  Sanchez sent packing?  NO.  It is funny that Sanchez will start next year KNOWING how an entire fanbase was ready to send him on his bottomside though.  Another dreadful year in store for them.

Arizona?  I think folks forgot about the contract Kolb is due (boy was that stupid huh?)  They have way more problems than QB.  They play in San Francisco's division now.

Seahawks.  Now, thats interesting.  But the fact of the matter is that Manning has to strike while the iron is hot.  San Francisco is the "now" team, and should remain that team for a few more years at least.  Peyton doesnt want to run into Navarro Bowman and Pee Willis (see commment about Redskins).
