Chargers season

Posted on: September 14, 2008 8:52 pm
Now that the Chargers' season is officially over, what should the Spanos family do with the laughingstock GM A.J. Smith and the lousy coaching staff?  Another week and another late game blunder by Norv Turnover and Ted "the best Offensive Coordinator any opposting team ever had" Cottrell.  What will be GM A.J. "I take credit for late GM John Butler's moves" Smith's excuse this year? It is a shame that the scouting dept Butler built and franchise players that Butler drafted are being wasted with the pathetic coaches hired by Smith and his massive ego. It has become clear that Norv Turnover is the wrong person to be coaching this team and they need to give Bill Cowher a call and give him total control of the franchise.

Bill Cowher is in big demand.  If Tony Dungy retires after this season the colts might be after him as well.  You're right nothing better than talking sports with a sexy girl who knows what she is talking about.

Laughingstock GM?

You don't watch much football, or read....or listen to the radio....

But being you are a New York fan....likely still just bitter.

Only one game back now!

They have the tools on offense. Hopefully they can shore up the D!

I  don't know, coming off of an impressive performance against the Patriots, the Chargers are still very much alive. My issue with Turner is the same one I have for Wade Phillips, they both get outcoached in the post season. It has happened everywhere they have gone. I do not think the "Player's Coaches" have a place in the NFL and unfortunately that is what Norv is, he relies too much on his players being the leaders. Every NFL Head Coach needs a little bit of a mean streak in him, all the legends do.

The Chargers lost to Miami, end of season as far as I'm concerned.

The Chargers will be fine, the AFC is weakened this year.  But, until they fix their red zone defense [aka get pressure and cover somebody] they will remain vulnerable.
