Owners, players conference call

Posted on: April 8, 2011 9:22 am
The owners and players have a conference call at 10 a.m. eastern with judge Susan Nelson to possibly determine if and where mediation between the owners and players will happen.

The players want federal mediation while the owners want to return to George Cohen which is less binding.

What Nelson does -- if anything -- could determine the next step for the lockout.

Owners, players conference call

Forget Nelson... forget Cohen.  You want to get this CBA ironed out?  Here's how you do it:

Mr. Pash (NFL) and Mr. Smith (NFLPA) get all of their appropriate numbers, papers, and information.  We lock them in a conference room together.  Nobody else is involved.  They both have all of the input they need from their respective sides by this point... they know what's wanted and what's negotiable.  And neither one of them is allowed to leave that room... not even to take a piss... until an agreement is reached.  I promise you, if properly motivated, both sides could have this thing done within 12 hours tops.  Quit ****ing around like a high school kid with a history paper to write.  Just sit down and get it done.

Owners, players conference call

I do agree with that...Splitting the "extra monies" back for ticket prices, etc BUT these greedy owners and players will never allow monies to be "left over" .  What I dont understand is why these millionaires arent mature enough to actually sit down and give and take?? This is football for petes sake...not war between countries...GET THE DAMN THING DONE or you will end up like the NHL and lose a ton of fans...Then who will pay your bloated salaries and buy your over priced tickets?? The quotes of "we need to get this done for the fans" is CRAP...Its for you!!!

Owners, players conference call

I have an Idea, why dont the owners and players each take part of the 9 billion dollars, what ever is left over give back to the fans. Each side keep saying " its important to get a deal done for the fans". Why, because we pay for those huge salaries for both the owners and players. So give something back like lower ticket prices. What ever money is left over subsidise that money for the the fans.
