Players, league have gag order

Posted on: April 8, 2011 12:56 pm

The conference call between the former union, league and judge Susan Nelson about if and when there will another mediation session has ended. Nelson has ordered both sides to keep what was discussed as quiet as possible.

One source with knowledge of the call confirmed this by explaining: "We can't say s---."

Presumably, saying you can't say "s---" doesn't violate any gag order.

Seeking details on what happened now.

he is just trying to prove how ignorant and uninformed someone can be.
LOL. irregardless is my new stalker. He likes to follow me around and repetitively argue with straw men. The players offered a 50/50 split. This is a fact. Now watch irregardless ignore this and try to make the argument about something else.

Hey, speaking of Exhibit A, the players already offered 50%. Jesus, you are stupid.

Guy, Lotusmaglite has no concept of what is going on, he is just trying to prove how ignorant and uninformed someone can be.

Getting 50% instead of 55% of revenue isn't going to kill them.

Other than headlines, I find it easy to avoid media coverage of things I don't care about.  And as for the headlines, well they just serve to attract attention to articles and so are understandably overblown.

I care about the lockout.  But what I find interesting isn't at all about football, but deals with the historical game of ownership versus labor.

This NFL lockout has far reaching effects. While Bilionaires and Milionaires fight, many others are hurt-

you're being way too tough... after all... how is one to feed their families (as the players contend) on only the league minimum of $385,000 annually? Those league minimum players will be eating dogfood on such a small amount of income. Even better... how is Tom Brady to maintain his lifestyle (and hair) on umpteen million a year? I mean come on brother... that's pauper money!

Come On Man... I mean Come On Man... we're talking an argument between millionaires and billionaires.

Excellent update, very useful news; as long as we are writing articles of great depth and insight,

C'mon we know Freeman copied and pasted this from someone else who actually has a college degree and can write. Jason Blair, er Mike Freeman, is incapable of a creative and original thought.

Good. The "former" union was so smug. They really thought the court would be a slam dunk win for them, so they really never negotiated for real and had decertification as their goal all along. Then they kept opening their mouths and inserting their feet. Now, their leverage is hanging by a thread. Too funny.

A deal should and could be worked out. However, both sides have to want it work out. The congress can agree, anyone can. The bottom line is does the former union have anyone adept enough to really negotiate. I mean DeMaurice Smith? Really? That's the best they can do? Hopefully, they'll rejoin, fire him and his cronies and get someone one in who has negotiating acumen and truly cares about the sport and players and isn't looking for a power play to make a name for himself.

If the players want to look good in this, they'll shut up, recertify, pick a new team and fight for the former players. That would show a sense of introspection and concern for someone besides themselves. Those former players are often crippled and penniless due to their injuries and medical bills. The "Union" shoudl fight for them first and foremost. That would be proper and righteous. Getting 50% instead of 55% of revenue isn't going to kill them. Compromise and help your own who truly paved the way for you to be grossly overpaid.
