The off-season blues

Posted on: April 7, 2008 10:19 am

So, another NCAA march madness is  almost over, thank god.  That is the one thing my boyfriend does not understand about me.  I love sports but I just can't get into basketball.  I try to use the rationale with him that I can watch the last 5 minutes of a  game, which can prove to be more than 20 minutes long sometimes because of the fouls and timeouts, and be totally satisfied.  If he is watching a game that is early on and the score is 4 to 8 I totally zone out.  He doesn't understand of course, and then when I don't want to watch sportscenter and prefer the NFL Network he gets upset stating there's nothing really going on in Football, it's the offseason, blah blah blah.

The draft is fast approaching, I am bummed to be missing the Fed-Ex party this year, I usually take my girls and attend it.  It's a good time and the kids love it.  Don't feel sorry for me though, I won a trip through work will still be in Jamaica. :-)  Who will Vinny and the regime of Zorn choose? I have loved the fact that our off-season has been fairly quiet, just resignings and a few low key acquisitions.  The Danny haters haven't had much to blog about lately, but I am sure they will find some fault in atleast one decision that is going to be made. LOL

I made a post about the whole "spygate" issue, that if we still had Tagliabue as the commish, would this thing have become such a circus? I think not.  I just want the whole thing overwith, one way or the other.  The fact that this Walsh won't come forward is raising some doubt as to what he has, but then again it could be so powerful that it's going rock many nfl boats.

The pre-season schedule has been posted, already I am making plans to go to Carolina for the Saturday night matchup and catch up with some military buddies I haven't seen in awhile who have season tix.  Wahoo!

Now all I need is positive momentum going into training camp from our Fabulous Draft...wishful thinking but a girl can wish can't she? Only 4 months to go....SIGH.

I'm sorry, correction. Club level seats are approx 6500 for two per season.

like an average ticket instead of what it used to be, $45 a seat for lower bowl is now $100 a seat for lower bowl?

Welcome to the world of the NFL-redskins fans have been paying that for years.  Club level are about 9,000 for two in a season, don't know what that exactly is for each game but it's $$$.

You will be surprised how many ticket holders will come up with that money.

The off-season blues

I go to college like 5 minutes away from the new Cowboys stadium and all I can say is hot D@mn! Its huge! In fact you can fit the statue of liberty in it, close the roof and it would fit perfectly. It can also hold the baseball stadium next to it. Too bad the prices have skyrocketed and Im afraid there will only be big shots in suits every game because the average fans cant afford it, even long time season ticket holders. But Im still going to try and save up for the first game there. It will be fun!

The off-season blues

DE needs are imminent, I haven't looked into who we could get there.
It looks like Calais Campbell (DE, Miami) will be available for us to select in the 1st round, so that's where I'm expecting us to fill in the hole opposite of Andre Carter.

The off-season blues

You think he's learned his lesson? I think he's saving it up for some "stunt" on draft day....I hope I am wrong.

I have to agree about the WR issue, except for LLoyd, that mistake is no longer on our roster. :-) I think our OL is solid, and I haven't heard that Joe Bugle is leaving so that's good for them.  DE needs are imminent, I haven't looked into who we could get there.

Thanks for responding, I was beginning to think no one cared about my off season woes! lol

PS. Can't wait to fly down to see your new stadium, WOW!

Skinsgal, looks like Danny Boy has learned his lesson this off-season. I actually like the Zorn decision. He will make things easier for Campbell. What you guys really need is a receiver who is taller than 5'10. Moss, Randle El, and Lloyd just arent getting it done. What do you think of Manningham or my boy Limas Sweed from Texas? Also a few younger guys on the offensive and defensive lines would help alot!

Go Cowboys!
