It's done: Nebraska to the Big 11

LINCOLN, Neb. -- It's official. Nebraska has joined the Big Ten, according to the Omaha World-Herald.

The story broke online while the board of regents are in executive session upstairs from where we are in the basement of Varner Hall. That means we're going to get a story today.

It's going to be great seeing Michigan and Ohio State come to Memorial Stadium. Purdue and Indiana not so much. Sad day, in a way, I'm sure for Tom Osborne. He wanted to stay in the Big 12. Texas forced his hand.

It's done: Nebraska to the Big 11

Honestly, congrats to the University of Nebraska.  I agree since the OU/NU rivalry essentially ended years ago, Nebraska is moving on to greener pasture, and should do very well in the Big 10.

Here's wishing NU all the best from a long time Sooner!

Happy to see you made sure to get a shot at Purdue in your paragraph.  I'm not sure why you'd be excited about seeing Michigan play.  You must have missed the last few seasons.

It's done: Nebraska to the Big 11

craigflorida That was the dumbest thing the Big 12 ever did. How they didn't have OU/Neb playing every year is a joke. I miss the Big 8 more than I will ever miss the Big 12.

It's done: Nebraska to the Big 11

as a long time Nebraska fan, I am disappointed but I understand also. I hoped the BIg 12 stayed together even though I am SEC these days... not really a fan of superconferences in football. Big 12 on brink of armageddon. Now, they will make a huge move OR explode I guess.

Do you actually watch college football?

Fair question given Michigan's recent success

It's done: Nebraska to the Big 11

Nebraska has played a few Big Ten teams over the last 30-40 years. I know Wisconsin, Iowa, Penn State, Michigan State, Illinois and Minnesota have all played the Huskers in the regular season. Quite honestly is anyone gonna miss Nebraska playing any Texas team on a regular basis?

Where Will Mizzou End Up?

I predict that Mizzou ultimately ends up in the Big 10 as well, plus at least one Big East Team and maybe 3.  We shall see.  I never thought I would see Nebraska in the Big 10, but I like it.  They have some of the best fans in college football and treat visitors well when they come to Lincoln.

North Texas to the MAC. The Sun Belt is holding them back.
