AND THERE WAS TWO

This is a close call but I personally liked Dan Marino better.

Marino by a whisker.

AND THERE WAS TWO

Sorry I missed all the prelim rounds.  Dan Marino was one of the best pure pocket passers in the game.  I have to go with John Elway not because of the Super Bowl championships, those were won by the Broncos team.  I'm going with Elway because of the intangibles he brought to the game.  The ability to lead his team to those 4th quarter comebacks, the ability to scramble his way out of trouble and make something happen, even the ability to punt the ball on 3rd down and pin the opposing offense deep.  All this on top of his excellant passing and leadership abilities.

I believe that Elway played a large part in getting the Broncos to 5 of their 6 Super Bowls.  To say that Elway won 2 Super Bowls is like saying Eli Manning won the Super Bowl last year and not giving credit where credit is due.  The Broncos won 2 Super Bowls because of a good defense, a great offensive line which opened up the running game, and veteran leadership which included Elway, Shannon Sharpe, and Steve Atwater.

AND THERE WAS TWO

John Elway.

He was the best at running a "Two Minute" offense....how many games did he win in the 4th quarter.I agree with Titanhater,Marino was a great QB,but Elway got the hardware.

AND THERE WAS TWO

John Elway.

It is amazing how some people perfer stats over winning. Marino was a great QB. As a fan, I would rather have rings over records.

AND THERE WAS TWO

John Elway

Both had great arms. Marino with his quick release, also had pinpoint accuracy. Elway had a bit more arm strength.

I guess the deciding factor for me is Elway's mobility. He could "buy time" and create a new play off of it. He could run (especially in his early years) when needed. He could keep the ball longer and subsequently continue to put pressure on defenses.

I wouldn't mind having either of them.

AND THERE WAS TWO

John Elway

Have to give it to the man who was able to lead his team to the title.

Dan was great, but the hardware has spoken

I would have to pick John Elway, because he is known for two of the most famous drives ever put together, plus he was also known for always getting to the big show or playoffs and then blowing it, but then he won two super  bowls and was able to over come. To me its not about your numbers that you put up, its about being a leader of a team, and  being able to rally your team for a common cause, this is why Elway gets my vote, and by the way, when he played I hated him really really really hated him, but dag-nab-it he was good.
