2009 OFFSEASON MOVES.....Outlook of the Redskins

For everyone who does not know about football, most every year my favorite team, the Washington Redskins, opens there wallet for the chance to score the next big talent in free agency...This year included.

We signed three players, Albert Haynesworth, DeAngelo Hall, and Derrick Dockery to big contracts, yet again proving Dan Snyder has not yet been affected by the sloping economic situation.

After many discussion with freinds and foes alike, I come to the conclusion that YES....I MEAN HELL YEA!!! we (redskins organization) have overpaid for these players.  HOWEVER, I feel as though the current market for these players called for these numbers.  So therefore, we were almost forced to pay these prices in order to get what we wanted......AND BELIEVE ME, WE GET WHAT WE WANT.

When in years past we threw away draft picks and tons of money on stars that are aged and on there way out of the league.  For example, the latest debacle of Jason Taylor.  We trade a 2nd round pick who played for 8 games and was hurt, and only had 3.5 sacks last year.  He was a waste of money and time and in the end WE RELEASED HIM.  UNKLIKE, years past, the tons of money was spent on players that are younger and have a future in football. Haynesworth(27), Hall (25), Dockery (27) still have many years ahead of them and also have all the talent in the world.  YES WE OVERPAID.....BUT IF THATS WHAT IT TAKES TO GET A PIECE OF THE PUZZLE...then so be it.

BOTTOM LINE....I would rather be the Redskins and pay for a potential star who could help the teams, then the Philadelphia Eagles who never open there wallet at all and turn there back on players who were cornerstones of there teams (Brian Dawkins to Broncos)
