BCS Standings Prove SEC Superiority

As of late the Tide and Gators haven't played dominantly on offense, (Interesting note; Alabama has the #1 defense, Florida has the #2 defense and Texas has the #3 defense - and as we all know "defense wins championships"). #1 Florida, #2 Alabama, #3 Texas, #4 Iowa, #6 TCU, #7 Boise State, and #8 Cincinnati are the only undefeated teams left in CFB. None of the other undefeated teams (#4, #6, #7, #8) have played AMAZING football...Iowa had a very close call, having to block two field goals to beat a pathetic Northern Iowa team (much like Alabama and Florida's close calls). Iowa also only beat an even more pathetic Arkansas State team by a single field goal. TCU only beat Clemson by 4. Cincinnati had a close game with Fresno. Texas has also had a close win - only a 3 point victory over a very depleted Oklahoma. And, to top it off, all these teams aren't playing SEC opponents...

The SEC is the only conference with 3 legitimate teams which are National Title contenders (Florida, Alabama, and LSU). Florida, LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, South Carolina...all of these teams are better than most teams in the nation. South Carolina has 2 losses...1 to Alabama and 1 to Georgia. Ole Miss has 2 losses 1 to South Carolina and 1 to Alabama. LSU has 1 loss to Florida. Florida and Alabama are undefeated. All these teams' losses are to SEC opponents...which only means the SEC is strong. Miss. State took LSU to the wire, and only lost to Florida by 10. How could anyone think the SEC is weak?

Only 4 teams in the SEC have losing records. Only Vanderbilt has less than 3 wins. And most of the SEC has had a bye week. So the losing record teams are 3-4...only 1 win away from having all but 1 team in the conference being .500 and above. So you have 3 Title contenders (#1 Florida, #2 Alabama, #9 LSU) Alabama and Florida are undefeated and LSU has one loss to #1 Florida.

The BigXII LOOKS like a better conference, but they only have one elite team. The records are better with the exceptions of Colorado, Oklahoma (3-3) and Baylor. But the conference is middle heavy (much like the SEC) but the SEC has 3 legit Title contenders. Texas is the only undefeated BigXII team, Oklahoma State is the closest to Texas with only 1 loss.

The SEC has 2 undefeated teams (Florida and Alabama; both Title contenders) and one 1 loss team (LSU - Title contender) The SEC also has 5 teams in the BCS top 25 (#1 Florida, #2 Alabama, #9 LSU, #22 South Carolina, and #25 Ole Miss)

The BigXII has 1 undefeated team (Texas- Title Contender) and one team with 1 loss (Okie State). The Big XII has only 2 teams in the BCS top 25 (#3 Texas and #14 Oklahoma State)

The Big10 has only 1 undefeated team (Iowa- Outside-shot Title Contender) and one 1 loss team. (Penn State) NOTE: The Big10 has no conference championship game, which will hurt their position in the BCS standings. The Big10 has only 3 teams in the BCS top 25 (#4 Iowa, #12 Penn State, and #17 Ohio State)

The PAC-10 has no undefeated teams and only two 1 loss teams. (USC- has an outside shot at the Title, Oregon) NOTE: The PAC-10 has no conference championship game, which will hurt their position in the BCS standings. The PAC-10 has 4 team in the BCS top 25 (#5 USC, #10 Oregon, #20 Arizona, and #24 California)

The ACC has no undefeated teams. And only one 1 loss team (Georgia Tech) The ACC has only 3 teams in the BCS top 25 (#11 Georgia Tech, #13 Virginia Tech, and #19 Miami)

The Big East has 1 undefeated team (Cincy) and two 1 loss teams (West Virginia and Pitt)NOTE: The Big East has no conference championship game, which will hurt their position in the BCS standings. The big east only has 3 teams in the BCS top 25 (#8 Cincinnati, #15 Pitt, and #21 West Virginia).

The MWC has 1 undefeated team (TCU) and only one 1 loss team (Utah) NOTE: The MWC has no conference championship game, which will hurt their position in the BCS standings. The MWC only has 2 teams in the BCS top 25 (#6 TCU and #16 Utah).

The WAC has 1 undefeated team (Boise State) And no 1 loss teams. NOTE: The WAC has no conference championship game, which will hurt their position in the BCS standings. The WAC only has 1 team in the BCS top 25 (#7 Boise State).

SEC - 5 teams in the top 25 (#1 Florida, #2 Alabama, #9 LSU, #22 South Carolina, and #25 Ole Miss)

PAC-10 - 4 teams in the top 25 (#5 USC, #10 Oregon, #20 Arizona, and #24 California)

Big 10 - 3 teams in the top 25 (#4 Iowa, #12 Penn State, and #17 Ohio State)

Big East - 3 teams in the top 25 (#8 Cincinnati, #15 Pitt, and #21 West Virginia)

ACC - 3 teams in the top 25 (#11 Georgia Tech, #13 Virginia Tech, and #19 Miami)

BIGXII - 2 teams in the top 25 (#3 Texas and #14 Oklahoma State)

MWC - 2 team in the top 25 (#6 TCU and #16 Utah)

WAC - 1 team in the top 25 (#7 Boise State)

Independents - 1 team in the top 25 (#23 Notre Dame)

Conference USA - 1 team in the top 25 (#18 Houston)

The SEC, BigXII, and ACC have title games, and after those title games the winner will be bumped up in the BCS Polls.

Since the ACC has no undefeated teams, no ACC team with make it to the National Championship game without some divine intervention. Florida, Alabama, and Texas would all have to lose twice for Georgia Tech to make it to the Title game. But a 1 loss Georgia Tech winning the ACC could bump Iowa out of the Title picture since the Big10 has no conference title game.

So it only makes since that the two conferences with undefeated teams AND a conference championship game will make it to the Title game. Barring divine intervention, formerly spoken of, we will see either Alabama or Florida (Maybe LSU and thats a BIG maybe) playing against Texas in the BCS National Title game in Pasadena.

THAT'S why you don't have the pre-game handshake.

Imagine walking up to your opponent pre-game and thinking in your head, "Boy, I am gonna slobberknock the crap out of this fool." Meeting him face to face and sharing a handshake makes the thought of taking him down that much more pleasurable.

September 3, 2009s pathetic display of sportsmanship on both players involved in the "Blount's Bronco Beat-down" is exactly what Mike Gundy was afraid of. How dare we (the fans), TV analysts, and sports casters dare to even begin to insult Coach Gundy for an honest opinion, which turned out to be true for two teams on the first day of the season.

18-22 years old, for the most part, are not going to be able to control their anger and emotions being told to wash the dishes. take out the trash, deal with a girl/boyfriend, etc. very well, much less after a big let down in a big you should've won. The days of "class" are behind us. Teams want to win and win bad. With the installment of the BCS system, players and coaches know how important every game, every interview, ever photo op, every quote will effect them and their school on many levels. Not only was Oregon's and Boise's public imaged scarred, but now recruiting will be effected.

There's in a new rivalry in college football, a new hatred between two schools. Oregon's and Boise's pathetic display of player control/ management, will severely effect both both programs.

I regret witnessing the meltdown of two players which will now effect two universities for a long time to come. That's why the pre-game handshake is a bad idea. With national title hopes so fragile these days, any added tension, and stress on players is a moronic.

Shame on the two players involved, the fans of Boise St. and the NCAA. Classless football is here to stay.

Fantasy College Football Team

I'm part of the Tuscaloosa League. Cool My players are gonna be:
QB: Jevan Snead- potential break out season, Ole Miss is highly ranked and I believe he's the 4th best QB in the Nation.

RB: Jacquizz Rodgers- need I say more?

RB: Mark Ingram- The running game should be on his shoulders at Bama. If the OL get's it together he'll do awesome.

WR: A.J. Greene- Outstanding wide receiver for Georgia, SEC freshman of the year.

WR: Julio Jones- Alot of people are posting that he'll be double teamed this season, but he has the talent to still be productive.

WR: Ryan Broyles- OU receiver, we all know OU is a passing team. He should put up some big numbers

TE: Jermaine Gresham- same thing stated about Ryan Broyles, OU is a passing team.

K: Leigh Tiffin- should be much improved from last year. Second coming of Lane Bearden?

ST: Alabama/ Javier Arenas- Arenas will prove to be the premier return man in the nation IMO.

Go, roll to victory, Hit your stride, You're Dixie's football pride, Crimson Tide!

We will fight in every game Strong of heart and true to her name. We will ne'er forget her And we'll cheer her ever, Loyal to Notre Dame. Cheer, cheer for Old Notre Dame Wake up the echoes cheering her name, Send the volley cheer on high, Shake down the thunder from the sky, What though the odds be great or small Old Notre Dame will win over all, While her loyal sons are marching Onward to Victory.

"FIGHT ON USC" Fight on for ol' SC, Our men fight on to victory. Our Alma Mater dear Looks up to you, Fight on and win For ol' SC Fight on to victory Fight on!

"THE YELLOW AND BLUE" (Michigan) Sing to the colors that float in the light; Hurrah for the Yellow and Blue! Yellow the stars as they ride through the night And reel in a rollicking crew; Yellow the field where ripens the grain And yellow the moon on the harvest wain; Hail! Hail to the colors that float in the light Hurrah for the Yellow and Blue! Blue are the billows that bow to the sun When yellow-robed morning is due. Blue are the curtains that evening has spun The slumbers of Phoebus to woo; Blue are the blossoms to memory dear And blue is the sapphire and gleams like a tear; Hail! Hail to the ribbons that nature has spun; Hurrah for the Yellow and Blue! Here's to the college whose colors we wear, Here's to the hearts that are true! Here's to the maid of the golden hair, And eyes that are brimming with blue! Garlands of bluebells and maize intertwine, And hearts that are true and voices combine; Hail! Hail to the college whose colors we wear; Hurrah for the Yellow and Blue!

"BOOMER SOONER" Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner, O-K-U! Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, O-K-U! I'm a Sooner born And a Sooner bred, And when I die I'll be Sooner dead. Rah, Oklahoma! Rah, Oklahoma! Rah, Oklahoma! O-K-U!
