Posted by Will BrinsonMaybe confused is the wrong word for C.C. Brown's feelings about Eli Manning? Or maybe not -- trying to figure out if he's confused (versus just insulting the younger Manning bro) is just, frankly, confusing.
See, Brown was apparently asked about going against his old teammate, and he didn't give one of those "great guy, always does the smart thing, yada-yada" answers. Quite to the contrary -- he kind of insulted Eli.
"You never know what you're going to get with that guy," Brown said Thursday. "You never know if he's going to come in and make bad decisions; you don't know if he's just going to have one of them Peyton Manning games where he lights you up."
Now, perhaps, the exact question involved Eli doing his best Jekyll and Hyde impersonation. If that's the case, Brown didn't really say anything too spicy, as Eli can come out and dominate a team ... or he could come out and help the opposition win. You really don't know what you're going to get.
But that doesn't mean that a former teammate should just volunteer that information the week that he's about to go against his old team.
And even if that's forgivable, the Peyton shot is just mean.
