If you’re going to run on the field during an NFL game, you probably don’t have to worry too much about being tackled by a game participant. The players usually keep their distance from the intruders, because they have no idea what the person, especially if he/she is drunk, will do.
Hell, I once saw a guy steal a ball from Brett Favre at mid-field during a Packers-Bengals game, and none of the players touched him.
So, when the 15-year-old kid you see in the video below ran around the field during last week’s Packers-Lions game, he probably didn’t expect for Green Bay linebacker Brad Jones to take him down. But that’s exactly what Jones did, mostly because he was freezing (and probably a little bored) during the delay.
“I was just cold,” Jones said. “I don’t understand how 10 security guards can’t catch one little kid.”
But you know what? I bet if this guy had run on the field as a streaker, Jones wouldn’t have gone anywhere near him.
There’s a lesson in there somewhere.
