NFC Inactives Week 15

Posted by Will Brinson

As usual, any big name ACTIVES go here: DeSean Jackson, WR, Eagles; Asante Samuel, CB, Eagles;

And we list INACTIVES right here:

Chris Gamble, CB, Panthers -- hey, so we might actually get up in the 20's for total points scored in this game after all.

NFC Inactives Week 14

Posted by Will Brinson

As always we post notable actives up top: Tony Gonzalez, TE, Falcons; Ryan Torain, RB, Redskins

And below we put a big old list of INACTIVES for Week 14:

Chris Gamble, CB, Panthers - Not that anyone expects the Cats to win Sunday, but Roddy White could be having a large game without Gamble on the field.

LaRon Landry, S, Redskins - Landry and Carlos Rodgers are both out for Washington, which should make their defense sooooo much better.

NFC Inactives, Week 13

Posted by Will Brinson

As always, notable actives right here: Adrian Peterson, RB, Vikings (he was out on the field testing his mobility earlier and the Vikes apparently decided to give him a go).

And the INACTIVES:

Pierre Thomas, RB, Saints - Thomas is inactive and will target Week 14 for his return. That means Reggie Bush and Chris Ivory get all the run against the Bengals.

Steve Smith, WR, Giants - No surprise here.

Percy Harvin, WR, Vikings - Now that's a surprise! Harvin was dealing with a "really strong" migraine earlier and won't make it on the field. Still waiting to hear on AP, but the Vikings are pretty banged up.

NFC Inactives, Week 11

Posted by Will Brinson

As always, we list the big name ACTIVES up top: Donald Driver, WR, Packers; Bernard Berrian, WR, Vikings, Darnell Dockett, Cardinals; Beanie Wells, RB, Cardinals, Clinton Portis, RB, Redskins

And INACTIVES right here:

Jonathan Stewart, RB, Panthers -- Stewart's out (concussion) and so is DeAngelo Williams, which means it's the Mike Goodson party against Baltimore. Somehow the Ravens aren't favored by more than two touchdowns yet.

Kevin Smith, RB, Lions -- Smith is actually on IR, so he's done for the year now.

Jimmy Clausen, QB, Panthers -- Clausen also suffered a concussion and won't play. Brian St. Pierre, away!

Brandon LaFell, WR, Panthers -- New Mad Lib game: _____ of the Panthers suffered a concussion Sunday.

LaRod Stephens-Howling, RB/KR, Cardinals: You probably shouldn't be starting their defense on your fantasy team. Unless it's bonuses for negative points.

NFC Inactives, Week 9

Posted by Will Brinson

Some notable names who are ACTIVE in Week 9: Percy Harvin, WR, Vikings (although it's worth noting that he's limping around the field); Beanie Wells, RB, Cardinals;

And the INACTIVES for NFL Week 9 in the NFC:

DeAngelo Williams, RB, Panthers: Williams was doubtful all week long with the injury that wasn't a big deal and has suddenly forced him to miss two straight weeks. The Panthers really need to run the ball in order to beat the Saints, but unless Jonathan Stewart can improve on his 2.8 yards per carry average on the season, that might not happen.

Sidney Rice, WR, Vikings: Not a surprise at all, but the good news is that Rice warmed up with the Vikes before the game, looked good and got applause from fans who were watching him.

Reggie Bush, RB, Saints: Not entirely shocking either, but Bush's continued absence means more carries for Chris Ivory and a less dangerous Saints offense.

Week 7 NFC Inactives

Posted by Will Brinson

Here are some notable ACTIVES for Week 7: 49ers CB Nate Clements is "in uniform," Panthers WR Steve Smith, Redskins TE Chris Cooley.

And now, the inactives you should note.

- Dunta Robinson, CB, Falcons - Robinson made big news last week with his hit on DeSean Jackson and the subsequent monster fine. That hit will keep him out against Cincinnati, which means the Falcons are even more vulnerable to the big play than normal.

- Michael Vick, QB, Eagles - Vick's the QB3, which means he'll only play in an emergency. This is the smart move by the Eagles -- if they can win with Kevin Kolb and get to the bye and get everyone healthy, they're a better team for it.

- DeSean Jackson, WR, Eagles -- Ha. Almost forgot, because it was so obvious -- but Jackson won't play for the Eagles, which hurts Kolb in terms of having weapons.

NFC Inactives Week 6

Posted by Will Brinson

Notable ACTIVES: Calvin Johnson, WR, Lions; Mike Williams, WR, Buccaneers; Michael Jenkins, WR, Falcons; Brent Celek, TE, Eagles; LeSean McCoy, RB, Eagles; Dez Bryant, WR, Cowboys

INACTIVES

Clay Matthews, LB, Packers -- Matthews' absence is arguably more damaging than Aaron Rodgers, considering how important he is for their defense.

Michael Vick, QB, Eagles -- Vick will serve as the team's third QB against Atlanta, meaning he gets no chance for the revenge that he hasn't really been looking for but which exists because we like to make a story out of him playing his old team.

Jerome Harrison, RB, Eagles -- The newly acquired player probably didn't have time to get adjusted to the new system. Either that or Eric Mangini included a "spite clause" in the deal that only allows Philadelphia to give Harrison four carries the rest of the season.

Lawrence Tynes, K, Giants -- Tynes' injury is the reason why the G-men signed Shayne Graham this week and he's not swinging his leg.

Today's key inactive players (NFC)

Posted by Josh Katzowitz and Will Brinson

Aaron Ross, CB, NYG
-- Ross is out with a "foot," as many an announcer would say. More accurate is probably "plantar faciitis," which makes this unsurprising.

LeGarrette Blount, RB, TB -- It's not shocking to see Blount out, it just means that we don't get to use the phrase "he's got a puncher's chance of playing today!" And that's highly disappointing, obviously.

Jeff Otah, OL, CAR -- It was presumed that Otah wouldn't be playing during today's game, but it's still a big blow for a Panthers team that is going to depend heavily on the run today against the Giants.

Armanti Edwards, WR, CAR -- The Panthers burned an early pick on Edwards. Thus far, he hasn't exactly justified the investment. Captain Munnerlyn and Mike Goodson will handle kickoff duties.

Victor Cruz, WR, NYG -- NOOO. Everyone's favorite preseason hero (he blew up during the Giants first game against the Jets) won't be playing today.

Kevin Smith, RB, DET -- Smith was dangerously close to getting cut by the Lions and while he's on the team, if Jahvid Best blows up early for Detroit, he's not going to earn any more playing time by sitting the game out.
