Nike, as you know, recently signed a deal with the NFL owners to become the league's apparel provider.
Some of the 2010 Nike Football Media Summit in Cowboys Stadium was specifically designed around dropping news about that angle.
There was also plenty of discussion and presentation of the new BCS uniforms (TCU, Boise State, Florida and Oregon all got new digs) but much of it related to the new gear that NFL teams would begin using.
For instance, the most revolutionary piece of equipment was the Zoom Alpha Talon cleat (right), which features an adaptive tracking system (for making quick cuts) and is the first football cleat to use Flywire, an uber-light but ultra-strong lockdown material.
The Talon's also the first football cleat ever to apply "Deflex" padding (which is basically what Nike makes their lowest-layer padding out of). The premise there is you get lightweight layering with heavy protection for bruises, big hits to the foot, etc.
Here's what the athletes present -- Steven Jackson, Clay Matthews, Ndamukong Suh, Dwayne Bowe and Felix Jones -- had to say about the new uniforms and cleats they'll be wearing.
