Just because Steelers safety Troy Polamalu has won the AFC Defensive Player of the Week award the past two weeks doesn’t mean he’s 100 percent. Polamalu’s lower leg has been bothering him and, according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, he’s unlikely to play this Sunday against the Jets.
Polamalu reportedly re-aggravated the injury in the second quarter against the Bengals. He has not practiced the last two days (missing Wednesday and Thursday practice has become the norm for him the past few weeks).
If Polamalu sits, Ryan Mundy or Will Allen would start.
