Colt McCoy and longtime ladyfriend Rachel Glandorf got married this past weekend. Did you know? Probably not. Do you care? Again, not likely.
But thanks to TMZ there's a pretty golden little country nugget that came out of the festivities: Jordan Shipley serenading the reception with his original country song, "When I Grow Up I Want to Be Just Like Colt McCoy."
The song is, to be perfectly honest, pretty good, all things considered. (Like, for instance: it's a country song, Shipley isn't a singer, it's at a wedding, it's original, it references McCoy being a ninja, etc., etc.) And it's pretty damn funny too, particularly the part about Tim Tebow .
Since, you know, McCoy's entire life has basically been overshadowed by the former Gator and potential savior of all mankind the Broncos. The reference hit home too, apparently, because the entire reception went b-a-n-a-n-a-s when Shipley dropped the line.
(Tebow reference is about the 1:50 mark; TMZ doesn't let us embed so click here to watch , autoplay warnings and whatnot).
Random (and likely stupid) fashion note: is it just me, or does McCoy look like he's rocking a short-sleeve buttondown at his own wedding? I'm sure that's not the case, but I find it immensely amusing to think that he would, in some sort of Office Space way.
