Barkley Postgame Translator App rips NFL coaches

"So many postgame interviews are full of nonsense and they are just boring."(Getty Images)

By Will Brinson

Last night, Charles Barkley hosted Saturday Night Live, for the third time in his storied career. Most of the skits, predictably, were hits but a couple were misses.

Not a miss? "Charles Barkley's Postgame Translator App," which was a mock advertisement for an iPhone app that lets Barkley break down what coaches and players are saying after games.

Mike Shanahan, Bill Belichick, Andy Reid and Rex Ryan are all subjects of a little mockumentary.

Jesus visits Tim Tebow, Broncos in SNL sketch

By Will Brinson

Tim Tebow gets enough talk these days that it shouldn't be surprising in the least to see Saturday Night Live bust out a skit on the Broncos quarterback.

But the way they did it is impressively funny -- Jason Sudeikis, dressed as Jesus, busts into the Broncos locker room during Tebow's post-game speech and tells the quarterback to "take it down a notch."

The big guy also makes a few salient football points: focus, stretching is important, as is reading the playbook, the Patriots are really good and the Broncos kicker deserves some love.

"Matt Prater, I pray to you brother," Jesus said.

Jesus also has some pretty funny lines for Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.

SNL: NFL more powerful than President

Posted by Will Brinson

No one watches "Saturday Night Live" anymore these days, but that doesn't stop Mrs. Brinson from spending her Sunday mornings finding something other than football to watch. As a result, if there's anything sports-related on the previous night's show, I'm all up on it.

Like last night, when Fred Armison did the open as Barack Obama, breaking down the 12 most powerful things in America. The NFL checked in at No. 4.

How? Well, according to "SNL" you'd never see an NFL game interrupted for a Presidential broadcast ("even if the Cardinals were playing the Jaguars") and no one has a fantasy Congress league.

Both of these things are true, sadly.

'SNL' rips Favre's Wrangler ads

Posted by Will Brinson

I didn't get a chance to catch Saturday Night Live on Saturday night, but that's only because there was this really, really awesome wall of paint drying over at my neighbor's house -- turns out I should have tuned in, because there was a hysterical Brett Favre ad featuring Jason Sudeikis which straight-up mocks both Favre's Wrangler ads, and his, um, off-field activity.
