Daily Show, Colbert take on Hank Jr's comments

Posted by Will Brinson

As you certainly know by now, Hank Williams, Jr., (aka "Bocephus") made some comments on a recent Fox and Friends interview in which he invoked Godwin's Law.

As a result, ESPN yanked his introduction for Monday Night Football, and there's no telling if he'll be back or not.

As a result of that both The Daily Show and The Colbert Report had a little "Bocephus segment" on Tuesday night.

Jon Stewart's reaction is a little surprising, if only because he's more offended by the celebrity-interviewing hypocrisy of having Williams on, and because he doesn't seem ... surprised.

Poor Stephen Colbert though. He simply wasn't even prepared for football on Monday without Hank to inform him that it was about to begin.

'Author' Rex Ryan appears on the 'Colbert Report'

Posted by Will Brinson

It was kind of impossible not to laugh when I opened up my television guide last night and saw that "Author Rex Ryan" was appearing on the Colbert Report.

But, hey, the Jets coach IS an author, and he's on a tour de force peddling his written wares to the public. And last night's stop featured an appearance with Stephen Colbert, in which Ryan was -- shockingly -- back on his heels when it came to answering questions.

The last one, folks, is gold. "Is everyone in your family named after a dog?" I mean, wow. Whatever, more Rex Ryan is always fun as far as I'm concerned, although seeing him overwhelmed with Colbert's wit was a bit disconcerting.

Stephen Colbert weighs in on Brett Favre

Posted by Will Brinson

You know something in the sports world has become "popular" if Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert are covering it. Tiger Woods is a pretty good example. And so is Brett Favre and the allegations of him sending text messages to Jenn Sterger.

Colbert tackled the issue on the latest installment of the "Sports Report." Spoiler: it's hysterical.
