QB Chad Pennington tore his ACL in a recent pickup basketball, and noted surgeon Dr. James Andrew will repair it April 7, according to Creative Artists, Pennington's representation agency. It's unclear which knee Pennington injured.
Now, you have to wonder if Pennington will return to the NFL at all. He’ll be 35 by the time next season starts, he’s only played four games the past two seasons and he’s coming off a potentially career-threatening shoulder injury (he’s now had four shoulder surgeries).
He’s a veteran presence in any locker room, and he’s well-liked and well-respected throughout the league. But you also have to question how much he has left to offer.
So, here’s hoping Pennington is a quick healer – so, if nothing else, he can get back to dancing like a maniac.
