Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork reports that Braylon Edwards will not be suspended for pleading no contest for misdemeanor assault. Edwards was involved in an incident outside a Cleveland night club back in January. He allegedly hit a friend of LeBron James. It is believed that Edwards will still be fined an undisclosed amount by the NFL.
As Cimini points out, the Jets will already be without Santonio Holmes for the first four games of 2010 (Holmes is serving his own suspension). There was speculation that New York could bring Laveranues Coles back, but with Edwards now available for Week 1, that’s unlikely.
