Prayers

A place to encourage members of the CBS Community who come here voluntarily to share positive messages, lift up injured athletes and other important persons in our lives, honor those athletes and individuals who express their faith, and provide support to Community members who seek it in time of need.  Isn't that what a Community does?

This is not a place of debate.  It is a place for positive interaction and assistance to Community members who want to talk sports without obscenities and share hope for our personal growth.

SEC to File Charges Against Mark Cuban

Dallas, Texas - In an apparent move to force the Dallas Mavericks to draft more players from the SEC to the NBA, charges have been formally filed against Dallas Mavs owner Mark Cuban.  Said Cuban, "I didn't know a college conference had legal rights to sue because an NBA team doesn't draft enough players from each given college conference."

Cuban plans to file appeals with the NBA League Office (which hates him), in federal district court, and with Barrack Obama (just in case, cuz he really likes basketball).

After the charges were explained to Cuban, his only response was, "Oh, THAT SEC.  Never mind."  He has since dropped his appeals and has gone into hiding.

A representative of the Securities Exchange Commission said they may have to drop the insider trading charges since Devin Harris just kicked Jason Kidd's butt in a Mavs loss to the Nets.  A quote from the anonymous spokesman, "It is obvious that Mark Cuban did not profit from this trade."

12 Step Recovery Programs

The 12 Step Recovery Programs have been around for a long time and have helped countless numbers of people deal with a wide variety of addictions, obsessive/compulsuve behaviors, and life problems.  I will present a Bible-based 12 Step program, but understand that secular programs are useful and successful, and I have participated in both.  I am presenting one option for those who want to undertake the challenge of recovery.

Athletes' Positive Contributions

NOTE:  First I want to make it clear that I am not endorsing any particular charity, event, activity, or organization, nor am I soliciting funds for such.  If a reader wants to research a particular charity, event, activity, or organization, the reader does so independently.  If anyone chooses to join or support an athlete's endeavor, it is done independently.  I will provide links for individual study for anyone who wants more information, but I am merely reporting on athletes who are giving back to their community and our society instead of reporting on steroids, crime, or the other activities that normally get the headlines.

Props to the good guys!  It's about time!  Please add any positive report you are aware of.
