Rok, the kid says we are trying the high desert route, and will try to make it to Albuquerque by tomorrow night. I have your info handy incase a blizzard comes up and we have to dive south earlier than expected. She does not have to report until Friday, so if we get stuck we have a little cushion built into the timing.

That weather is always iffy this time of year, Phoggy.  Storms come up sudden like.  Oh, and the weather will be iffy all the way to Arizona via the northern route.  Hope all goes well.

Just got off the phone with wmich. He's in great spirits and this is the best he has sounded in the conversations that we've had. He went to the doc today and they made some adjustments to his medications including adding something to help him sleep. At this point he's just bored and wants to be done healing yesterday so that he can get back to his life.

He still has a ways to go, but seems to be getting a little better each day.

As Jonny said, T12, thanks for the update on WMich.  Good man, and let him know thoughts and prayers go out to him daily.

Haven't kept up with AD as I don't visit many other sites or threads.  Hope he's okay.  Try to stay out of the seemingly neverending beotching on other threads.  No sense to it in my opinion.

 Yeah, we've been talking about going to Italy for a while. Believe my Great Grandfather was from Campobasso and would like to have a look around.
 Like to see Greece as well. That's why we were talking about doing a Mediterranean cruise. That's as long as the Captain doesn't run it aground....LOL!

Phoggy, Weather Channel calls for 3-5 inches of snow in Amarillo by the afternoon.  Chance of snow all the way to Albuquerque as well.  Just wanted you to know lady.

Forecast on the southern route (dropping down to I-20) is light rain, with temps in the upper 50s all the way to El Paso.

Jonny, Phoggy's on the road to Tucson with the brand new second lieutenant (butter bar) lil gurl.  Should be hip deep in snow and nastiness on the roads by now.  Hope they cut south and come through here instead.  We've got some wind and dust blowing today, but the temps are in the upper 50s, under mostly sunny skies.  Seems a bit better than trying to slosh through a storm predicted to dump between 6-9 inches of the white stuff. 

I'll let ya all know though if I hear from her.  Just want her and her daughter to be safe.


Senora's getting excited about who the next Pope will be.  Have always hated to bust her bubble, but since it's a political process that makes the final pick...who knows?????

Been Irish Catohlic this news came as quite the surprize to me that he was stepping down..........I believe there is a lot more too this story that is been reported...........I think he may be in the early stages of Demita ???......and you can tell the Senora that Cardnial Oulette from Canada is in the running to become the next Pontiff........BUT I hope they vote in the Cardinal From Africa.........a Black Pope would do wonders for the Roman Catohlic Church and he is young by Pope standards.

I saw a news story on likely candidates this morning, of the four mentioned, one being 80 was easy to eliminate, I thought the same as you about the African Cardinal.  I believe he's just 64.  The Canadian and U.S. Cardinals mentioned were also very good possibilities.  But, I don't believe they'd ever elect a Pope from America. 

We'll see, huh?

The next Pope must come from the ranks of Cardinals (Larry's right, Jonny, not THOSE Cardinals).  Think of it as making the rank of general in the military.  You don't make it when you're young. 

Anyway, since all my in-laws here are devout Catholics...I'll be hearing about this for some time to come. 


Congrats Wabbit on the Sparty beatdown of the Wolvermeenees tonight.  Guess Izzo's starting his late season crap again.  LOL

Jonny, haven't heard from Phoggy, so her and the lil one must have stuck to their plan to go I-40 from Ok City, through Amarillo and the Texas panhandle, and onto Albuquerque.  I know they hit everything from rain to ice to snow, and probably some pretty stiff winds too.  You know how it gets through there this time of year.  We had some 30 mph winds coming straight out of the north today, and they came from Amarillo.  So, like you and all others, hope they found safe haven for the night.
