Yes he did come up big in the playoffs but..........He was a non thought at the begining of the season, I was more concerned on weather or not Huet could fill the Pads on the departed Khabibulin. Fact the Blackhawks gave up a lead leading shots on goal during the regular season but most of them were from a low percentage angle. NOW Turco is in town and I like it he had a better save percentage than Niemi and thats the true tale of how to judge a goalie. Keep in mind Turco was in Dallas on an aging Stars team.

Salary cap keeps making free agency leftover plate larger every year it seems. Tons of players without a team that without a cap would definitely be signed by now.
Agents of those players can't be happy probably telling their clients to sign with a KHL club instead. Slump ur right man! It's been a sad summer of FA signings with many decent middle-class NHLers still waiting for the phone to ring. Now I'm ot sure if it's completely bad that the middle class are getting squeezed out of the league because the flip side is that new NHLers are being unleashed on the league. The only question is... Is there enough talent in those new young players to improve the on-Ice product or are they simply watering down the game with the AHL calibre play?

I am not sure about the deal with veterans on FA lists. If Colby Armstrong gets what he got, I think average players are still getting paid... I have to thik the guys available want more than what teams value them at...they want longer term contracts adn teams are NOT INTERESTED in paying aan old Bill Guerin more 2.5 million for three years...and the agents wanting one last paycheck for their pimped meal ticket.... hold on and hold on.... what do they care if their guy gets 1.75 million vs 1.5 million...10 is only worth another 25,000 to them...they want that 3 year deal for 1.5 million (an additional 300K to the agent ) and will even advise KHL cause agent hardly cares if player is unhappy and family wants to break upu..might even mean player hangs on for a contract till age 40..
Your WORST FRIEND is your agent in most cases I figure..I would NEVER have an agent myself..I woudl do all negotiations and hire one time consultants for my taxes AND maybe to do with tidying up my contracts..get a tremendous Tax lawyer familiar with the NHL agreements.... maybe pay a veteran GM who is aware of present rules and not working as a consultant..give him 10,000 for his opinion, a weeks work and then some follow up advice (jsut a phone call once in a while)..easy 10 K...alwyer gets 25,000 for the contract and tax consultations..... hirfe a tyhpical accontant for about 1000 dollars a year (not hard to do a set income) ...adn then hire a PR guy and make it mostlly incentive based ...allto do with promotions and advetising... give Marketing manager maybe 25%...but..marketing manager must submit a business plan and shoe he has awareness of NHL trademark clauses AND also the ability to brand or sign up contracts.... ...... I figure 35,000 in contract negotiation year plus 1000 annually for tax preparer and then a percentage on the marketing dude.... he can maybe have an annual budget of 5000 to work with dn then can co-op all the other materials with grateful suppliers and co marketing ventureres.... You get much, much more professional support with this plan AND pay onlyu about 7-8% on entry level contracts at league minimum...but if you get a huge contract..even though you give them a tiny bonus..your percentage paid out drops to maybe 1 % and you get top notch talent mazimizing your take home income, Gross income and marketing money....
PigsRule- I think the salary cap is a necessary evil but think for sure that my Wings would be rostering a way different looking team if they there was no salary cap. Yes I think the talent is watered down under this strict cap forcing many players that just are not NHL ready to contribute now.

Brent Seabrook could pull in 2.5 next season he is a RFA we will see how that goes.......I am wondering about Marty Turco next year, if he and the hawks have playoff success will he reup for a sane amount? We had a friend (not much of one really) who bought a Lada maybe 30 years ago or whatever...anyway, we counselled him firfecely not to by the Ruskie car and prompltlly renmaned him Lada Mike forevermore when he did not heed us. One time, 4 Quebec businessmen were scrunched in a LAsa in their business suits. I wlaked up to their car from mine at a green light, and indicated to the driver to roll down his window, He obliged and they were smiling: I said, ÿou all ought to be ashamed of yourselves driving around in this car". They rolled the window down and I returned to my okd GM car LOL.
But the funnies was the commercial that Lada had playing in Ottawa. It bragged that the Lada was so tough that you couold kick it and it woudl not dent. So one day the two car lots in the city had every car kicked in!
