Message Board Braggin' Rights League

Sam, Treff, Foot, and all you other board regulars:

Inspired by Foot, I'm creating a 12-team league for Board Bragging Rights -- no special rules, we'll go with what we get for free right here on Sportsline.

On the list so far are me (wilwhite), Treff and Sam -- and we'll keep a spot warm for The Foot.

I suggest we invite Scapegoats and Monkey for hanging in with Foot's challenge last year, Average Joe for being smart and dedicated, and Dawg for lurking in the 'hood. Other suggestions? Just people we've seen contributing a lot on the boards already.

(If we end up with too many asking in, I'll figure a way for existing members to vote.) 

I suggest a live draft at 10 pm ET on August 21 (that's a Sunday). Once we have everybody I'll send the password around.

I'm down with that. Even the draft date and time works great for me.  Might I suggest that Leftypower01 gets an invite?  I would like to think we'll require that all our owners should be currently, or at least somewhat recently, active posters/contributers on the forum, no non-contributing lurkers!!  lol

....but not me. Count me in. I do have a personal issue that could come up and keep me out but I seriously doubt it...................illness in family and no computer access if I have to go in emergency. Other than that I'm in.

Wow 10:00 pm is late for an old working guy, but count me in - free is an unbeatable price.  If I can't manage to keep my eyes open, I can always pre-rank and revert to autodraft.  That may just give some of you a fighting chance - - well, at least it gives me an excuse. .....
Will this include flex or not?  I'd vote for.  I think that option is available in the free leagues.

Gotta hand it to you 'mountain' state folks it's alot prettier there than sunny. flat Florida. .... lots cooler and less humid as well.  But gee, if I lived there where would I go on vacation? 

Okay - five of us are in so far. I'd be happy to have Crumblin' Herb along, too, but haven't seen him in a while. 

Since Lefty mentioned it, here are our two options for standard free leagues, one here and one at the other sports megasite:

Option 1

No flex (2RB, 3WR), 5-player bench
12 teams
Staggered draft order (not snake; I think it gives a few teams an early advantage)
14-week season, top 4 teams play week 15, championship is week 16


Option 2

Flex (2RB, 2 WR, flex), 7-player bench
Only 10 teams
Option for snake or auction
13-week season, 2 two-week contests in playoffs (14-15 & 16-17), with consolation brackets.

Vote early and often.

8 or 10 is ok with me. I've never played in a league that used the flex or didn't use the snake draft.
It's a free league so I don't really care.

My money league does not snake but we get to keep 2 players...........IMO that will give a major advatange to the teams picking early in a redraft league. As much as I would rather it be a 12 team league, I would have to agree with scapegoats.

My mistake - checking again, a live draft on Sportsline will in fact snake, so we'll stay here at CBS and sacrifice the flex (sorry, Lefty).

ok - so I'm outvoted on the flex - but don't worry about me, I'll be just fine (he says with a tear in his eye).  Snake is great.  Number of team, 10 or 12 doesn't matter.  I've never done an 8 team format.
