I always root exclusively for Americans in any tournament. However, I will make this one exception: I would love to see Darren Clarke win the Claret jug. His comments after the round were priceless: just likes to have a good time; can't wait to hoist a few; praise for Lucas Glover, etc. Truly a regular, lunch bucket type of guy (except he's a multi-millionaire). Oh, and his ball striking today was from another planet. Can't wait for the finish tomorrow.

OK. I'm tired of hearing about how the rest of the world is better at golf than the Americans. The experts spend inordinate amounts of time trying to point out what is wrong with American golfers. I am going to go the other direction. Take a look at the leaderboard. There is a foreign golfer in the #1 position, but #2 is American and so is #3. Lets go even further. 10 of the top 16 golfers after round 3 are American. That sure doesn't sound like foreign dominance to me. An American hasn't won a major in a long time, but we are right there in the running.

Clarke is a very likeable character not unlike the "Daily Double", but good luck to the 'Johnson' that lurks right behind him, so to speak.
My goodness. The U.S. Women's efforts and a redeeming climb for Johnson, tomorrow. Even 'The Tour' is somewhat entertaining if the 'SLO' group can stay engaged.
