News: Lubomir Visnovsky (suspension) will report to the Islanders on Wednesday, according to the Islanders Point Blank.

Analysis: Originally Lubomir Visnovsky wasn't planning on reporting to the Islanders until after his son's surgery on Feb. 9, but apparently he has been assured that he doesn't need to be there for the surgery. A conspiracy theorist might suspect that the Islanders hot start has something to do with his willingness to report early.

This could make the Isles PP even better.. The special teams have looked great so far.. I know its early , but they are off to a solid start.

News: The Islanders placed Radek Martinek (abdomen/groin) on IR retroactive to Feb 3, Katie Strang of ESPN New York reports.

Analysis: Radek Martinek is dealing with a strained groin and abdomen, and there is no timetable for his return at this point. Even before the injury, the veteran defenseman hadn't suited up for the Isles yet this season, so he shouldn't be counted on for much offensive production when he returns.
