I was just trying to find any info on upcoming surgeries. I just found this : Celtics guard Rajon Rondo is scheduled to get a second opinion on his torn right ACL within the next few days, reports CSNNE.com. Rondo, who was declared out for the season with his injury last Sunday, is considering meeting with Dr. James Andrews. "He (Dr. Andrews) is one that we're definitely considering," Rondo's agent Bill Duffy said. "If he's No. 1, there's a couple 1As and 1Bs we're looking at as well." Duffy also added that he is in the process of setting up meetings with other athletes who have dealt with similar injuries. (Updated 1/29/13)

You may be onto something, Rock. You called the Brown firing. If you go 2 for 2, I'll be a little freaked-out. That would be some Nostradamus shizz.

Well, Rondo actually played when Wade chicken-winged him.  Plus, when they reported Rondo was hurt, he said it felt more like a hammy.  I don't blame him for getting a second opinion.  Maybe not ALL ACL's require season-ending surgery?  If its only a minor tear, maybe it'll heal on its own?  I scooped him up on my fantasy team as a reserve just in case somehow he defies the odds and continues to play!  If he does go ahead with the surgery, I'll just drop him for somebody else.

I like how the team is playing right now.  Having Rondo is a luxury but when you are faced with not having him to dominate the offense, it forces everybody else to bring their A-game.  Things like these have a way of working out.  Look how the Bulls have played without Rose!  Well, we've got Orlando tomorrow, anybody else up for a 3 game streak to climb back to .500?!?

Let's go, boys!  Word.

WEEI, cant remember the show, said it was a joke by Rondo. They were talking to Heinson. I don't think I would bank on him coming back this year.

I needed reconstruction my senior year in highschool... Doctor said I could play until it snapped that it wouldn't do further damage so I got scoped until it blew out which was a few months later... NBA is much more physical and I was playing football so there's a huge difference, but I did play... Then got reconstruction and went on to play college ball full speed... That was in 1995 so 2013 is much better for him to have shot... he may be coming back...I know I come in to talk trash but I'm kinda partial to knee injury players coming back so I wish him the best...

its kind of unfortunate from league wide glimpse that now rondo and rose are both undergoing major career rehabilitations on injuries that in the bygone day would have ended a career.

Well, weaklink3, I don't know much about ACL's but if Rondo will definitely need surgery, I'd rather see him get it over with so we can go into next season fresh.  Thanks for the feedback.  Word.

Rondo is not coming back this season.  The situation that many are talking about was before he was announced done for the year.  What happened, and this is all from what I hear, there could be back door goings on.
But Cedric Maxwell, Celtics radio color analyst, spoke with Rondo before the Heat game, he said that his knee was hurting and that he would be out for two weeks, many think Rondo was joking, others say he had not gotten his MRI results at that point, so he may have been telling the truth.  Well Max told this story to Celtics radio announcer Sean Grandy, off air, and tweeted the two weeks out as true.  But by half-time they knew that he was out for the season.  Max said that he was joking when he said the two weeks, but did acknowledge that Rondo said that.  Some how many Celtic insiders knew this situation was worse than fans knew.
Im not even sure this explains everything, as I still don't understand everything, but one thing I'm pretty sure about, is he will not be back this year.

This is noe more part I left out, Cedric Maxwell does not Tweet.  I must be old because I think tweeting is just about the silliest thing I have ever heard of doing.  Do people really care that Joe Blow is currently taking a dump?
The problem with twitter is so many posts are so inaccurate.  It has made news companies stop getting the facts, because they want to get it out on Twitter before anyone else.

Your DR wanted you to play until your ACL blew out? It was was only torn a little bit and you played until it just snapped? That's tough.

He dropped in the draft because of concerns over his back. Unfortunate luck for the Celtics. I despise the them but hate seeing players get injured regardless of which team they play for.

This is why he fell on draft night and I really thought his back problem was behind him. I feel for the guy, he was starting to come into his own.

back issues don't go away, that is why he fell in the draft.  I expected it to surface sooner or later. Lets hope this surgury solves this issue.  Long term, it was still worth the risk<br />

the irony is that the big 3 for the most part have just gotten slower but 99% of the injuries have been the younger role players

the only 2 injuries to the big 3 (when ray was on the team) was when KG blew out his knee and Ray Allen having bone Spurs last year
