Howard fragile? Until last season I don't think he's missed a single game.

i mean i dont think Logic implied fragile to the point of it being like greg oden but i can see dwights career winding up like bill walton (except walton was way better with overall skill set)

howards issue is, he relies on total physical domination, and he just had back surgery thus if he doesnt change his game like kobe and pierce did as they aged then, yes, hes going to break down

I wouldn't say Danny f'd up.  If Sully recovers, it was the right thing to do.  From what we've seen, this kid has a future.  As long as he can stay healthy.  It's far too early, to grad that move.

You just worry about how you boys are gonna get your azz handed to you Thursday night.  Word.

Tonight's game against Toronto will be interesting.  We'll get to see what Rudy Gay/Dermar Derozan/Kyle Lowry/Andrea Bargnani look like together.  Word.

Fragile implies an injury prone player. I don't think anybody considers Dwight an injury prone player. Maybe things will be different going forward, but I don't agree with calling him fragile at this point of his career. He could very well get back to 100% health from the back and shoulder injuries.

Kendrick Perkins can dislocate his shoulder and play through it or take a few games off an come back and play, Rajon Rondo can have wade chicken wing his elbow and continue to battle


having back surgery in the world of healthcare is physiologically comparable to heart surgery.

obviously Howard came back from his just like Green came back from his surgery, however long term effects are going to slow both these players down especially once they reach their 30s 

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you Hawk. Certainly having back surgery is much different than say recovering from an ankle sprain. I just think it is a little early to label him as fragile when, until recently, he's missed few if any games to injury. He is currently saying that his back is about 75%. I doubt that gets to 100% during the season. You may be right in that it may never be 100% again. He may have a long summer to continue rehabing it

I would even it may be a bit of gamble considering the back surgery. I'm sure the Lakers front office is well of aware of how the back rehabilitation is proceeding and the prognosis for the future. They are not trading him this season and will certainly offer him a max contract during the summer. He is supposed to be the foundation of the post-Kobe rebuild. Assuming he gets back healthy, he's a top 5 player in the NBA and arguably the best defensive player. How many of those are out there?

Well I hope your being honest.  But I would not put so much confidence that LA has such a level of knowledge of an effective master plan (see picks lost and coach shuffling). Its true that Mitch's hand are tied now, and for better or worse LA must ride this event out. But a max contract?  Between his head and his body and the rise of the new generation of players, and the spread offense he is not as young as you think, as smart as you think, and thus as valuable as you think.  This is not 2008 or 2009.  We are talking a max contract.  This is not to say he wont have spurts ahead, but like you said, its a gamble.  I guess the cards have been dealt anyway.
