The Pac-12 Thread....

Given Oregon's placekicking woes over the past couple of years, Ducks fans should be excited to see Matt Wogan on the list. Rivals rated him as the No. 2 kicker/punter in the country. He made five field goals of 50 yards or more as a senior and had more than 80 touchbacks on kickoffs.

Needed it!

Does one recruit really bump a class up that much? I haven't read the final numbers but saw a few places WSU got 39th when there is only one legitimate recruit in Bruggman.

Depends on the recruit.

When 4* RB Wilson changed to Ohio State from Oregon the ranking on Rivals went from 22 to like 36
the others didnt drop him as much maybe like 15 to 19.

while 2* RB Benoit commited and only went up 1 spot.

Well it looks like every outlet has UCLA as #1 in the conference.

No surprise Colorado is #12.  A little shocked that Stanford is #11 however.

Stanford got hammered cuz they're only bringing in like 12 recruits. That lowers the ranking of the class. Oregon and especially USC are ranked much lower than they should be also due to having smaller classes. If you look at the average star rating of the guys that Stanford actually does have room for it's actually pretty good.

With the way Stanford is built, they will wow you in one year when it comes to the lines but in a year where it skill players are needed they should not wow you. Let's face it, rivals, scout and all the other recruiting "experts" most 4 and 5 star skill players can not get into Stanford. Stanford's offensive line alone from last year is a 4 year recruiting class of top 10.

USC is bringing in 12 recruits. Even though they lost a bunch of studs recently, they still average 4.42 stars per player on both Scout and Rivals. That's the highest for any team in the country by a landslide. They're getting five 5 stars and seven 4 stars. As a Boise fan that just blows my freaking mind. We've never had a single recruit in our entire school history that was a 4 star on both services. Not one! USC. So much talent. So incredibly loaded. Yet so sad that Lame Kitten is at the controls. What a waste.

If I'm the Kitten, I'm taking a good hard look at Max Browne this offseason. They need a quarterback in the worst way and I doubt anybody currently on the roster including Wittek is going to do any better. If you have to take your lumps here and there with the kid, then so be it.

Washington State, Purdue and Wyoming have offered this Seattle area speedster. But Oregon is one school he'd love to earn an offer from.

This is interesting. We are only signing 13 recruits. But as it turns out that is 2 more than we lost to early departure and seniors.  Assuming we lose that TE to incarceration or whatever. It would be then plus 1. But it seems we played last year with allot of redshirted players not playing. This coming year Kiffin is banking those schollies because he will have about 102 football playrs available to him if I counted right. Maybe there is some depth problems at a postion but not in total for 2013. But I would appreciate somebody checking me out on this because I can't say I am sure. Anyway, I didn't see depth as a problem last year. Schemes yes, depth no. Strange, but if we find a QB, this actually could be a very good year, assuming defensive adjustments materialize.
