6pt lead with 9 games to play.

The streak looks like it's going to die.    Carlyle doesn't have enough time to implode the team.

The star player on your team should never have to be your gm, nonis stays in the background and the team evolves and doesn't look like a joke.

That's pretty funny.   I never thought about it like that.   I wonder if he ruined it for all the future gms that wanted to steal the media's attention 3 times a day.     Anaheim doesn't let him talk to anybody.

Watching the Habs vs your Buds game last Saturday night, HNIC mentioned the last time these two met in the playoffs was friggin 1979! Didn't think it was so long ago, wow.

For kicks here's the roster of the Buds team that course lost to the powerhouse 70s Habs.

A GM and a bunch of NHL bench bosses on that roster.

Hope to see them meet in this years playoffs. It's been waaaaaaaaaay to long.

Yes, I remember that very clearly, the series was nothing special, the leafs lost in 4 straight, and the habs went on to win their 4th cup in a row. The series before that one vs the isles was a classic 7 game battle, the leafs ended up winning it in OT on the road with a lanny mcdonald snap shot on billy smith's low side.

I'm not sure bob, but they count it as the combination of leaf wins and I'm guessing Jets losses that would make it mathematically impossible for them not to make the playoffs, I'm guessing around 5.

You got it bandit, one more leaf win combined with a Jets loss, and its impossible for the jets to catch up.
