He isn't any better on D than Afflalo was,

He's a lot better on D than Afflala was, and I liked Afflalo.  Huge steal and time out by Iggy against the Pacers, and then he hits the free throw to win the game.

Still, I think this team is going to have a tough time getting out of the first round. They really seem terrified at the end of close games. No one wants to take a shot.

Afflalo was a great dfender on SG's. Iggy can really guard anyone. His strength is so much more evident than Afflalo.

If the Nugs can't hit FT's at the end of games they will go nowhere in the playoffs.

CNS- We'll have to disagree on Iggy. I can't even see 10 mil. He isn't any better on D than Afflalo was,

Sorry, Iggy is a lot better IMHO.  Who didn't like AA?  Yet this years TEAM is better and a lot of that has to do on the defensive end.

We got the better end of that deal thus far (still a long way to go). But if Iggy would just stop chucking up 3s at 5+ per game and let the game come to him a little more, he could really add so much more to the offense of Denver. He's like a mini-Carmelo in that you can tell sometimes he feels like he's "gotta get mine" when he hasn't shot the ball in several possessions.

5 in a row, this is some great basketball lately. Lots of ball movement, inside/outside balance and everyone has their own roles that they are seemingly comfortable with. Let's just hope for no major injuries in the next month.

clem- Agree on the mini-Melo comment  about Iggy.

to the other posters- Are stats bearing out your claims that Iggy is a better defender than AA was?

My reference to Iggy being better than Afflalo was for his all-around offensive and defensive game. I think they are fairly equal defensively but Iggy can create his own shot a bit better than Afflalo ever could and also fits in so much better with Denver's up-tempo style of play.

Iggy has the potnetial to be better on O than AA. Maybe I'm impatient but I haven't seen the Iggy explosion, yet.
Props to Coach Karl for being named West Conf coach of the month.

It's Karl's system, not necessarily that Iggy is significantly worse than he was, say, 3 or 4 years ago. He's more or less our 3rd option on offense behind Gallo and Lawson now. Back in Philly he was either their #1 or #2 option. Plus, Denver plays one of the best brands of team basketball in the NBA and share the ball quite a bit, so I wouldn't get too caught up with comparing their stats. I'll still take Afflalo's jumpshot over Iggy's, but I just think Iguodala is a much better overall fit for this team so in my opinion, Denver got the better of the deal simply because they are a better team as a result.

For the record, I do not think he's anywhere near being worth his $15 million per year salary. Lawson+Gallo+Faried does not equate to Iguodala's salary this year.

This team can come back from a deficit. They looked like last night was going to be a game they give to the Bucks and in the 4th quarter they cut that deficit out and win by 8 I am extremely impressed.

Go Nuggets!

This team is rolling right now. I wish they had figured this all out earlier in the season as I think they could be legitimately contending for the Western Conference title. As it stands, they are still looking very, very good. Can't believe they came back last night. I am sick and fell asleep when they were down big in the 3rd Q and awoke this morning to a nice looking boxscore.

Blowing out a very good Chicago team at home. It's clear to me the key to our season is now securing a home court advantage in the playoffs. Denver is virtually unbeatable at home right now. Praying for no injuries.

Great game against Boston tonight, didn't get the W but we clawed and fought in a game I felt was gonna be given to Boston. The Celtics are just as hot and had the home edge with more rest of late. Great effort to fight to triple OT.

Go Nuggets!

Would have to agree, about us hangin' in there & playing a great game. Nonetheless, the league needs to seriously address the home calls. I used to be the first person to bitch about the refeeing in games (especially regarding the Nuggetts), and then I said buck it & became the last person to bitch about it. My former self is making a guest appearance tonight vs. the Celtics.

Come on man'.

There were some very sketchy calls in that game, but that's the NBA for you. If we were in Denver I'd expect those calls to go our way. I don't like the instant replay rule in basketball, it gives an old team like Boston a chance to catch their collective breaths and that was maybe the difference yesterday.

One other point - I heard that Andre Miller was upset at his lack of playing time and voiced it to the media last week. He was in during crunch time yesterday and proceeded to cough up the ball twice in critical situations and chuck up a ridiculous 3 pt attempt. I love Andre and his role with the team, he needs to remember he's a pass-first guy and not get caught up in wanting the ball in his hands at all times.

Props to Pierce and Garnett....the old guys still make big shots when they count.

I know right?! He didn't chuck up just one, but two long range duds.

And that's exactly why Ty Lawson should have the ball in his hands at that point, not Miller. Miller is a great distributor of the ball but a worse-than-average shooter.

Miller knew he had signed with Denver as a backup, not sure what he's crying out.

Andre needs to shut up and play.  He knew what he was signing up for at the end of last year.  He's got a pretty good gig right now.  By the way, he looks slow on a FAST team.
