Amd considering that CBS sports is losing a ton of members of the Raiders board because of this guy.. .It makes it really hard to understand why you would ban someone and immediately let them come right back in with another user name.

He's nearly universally loathed, Will often post the same topic dozens of times in a week, etc. HE's been banned from a number of other team boards, but the lack of moderation on CBS sports keeps letting him come back.

You really should do something about this guy on a permanent basis.

Unfortunately there is nothing in the system that prevents banned users from creating another profile. But if you come across a profile that you believe is trolling, please use the ‘report this post’ icon to alert the moderation staff.

Then why ban people in the first place? Seems like a total waste of time to ban someone only to have them create another screen name, come back as someone else, and do the same thing all over again.

But then again you continue to allow people like TROLL SWATTER to have 100 plus screen names and claim that is not against any rules.

Why would one person need over 100 screen names as he does with his Presidents and Outsiders names?

GREAT Question.............CBS Must have security sytem's that allows them to read a persons IP address ???......we ALL have ONE IP address.

That way they can tell who "All the Presidents Men" is ???.....via their security system........they must know that all those Screen Names is ONE person.

Good luck to the Ravens this weekend............I picked them to win.

How come when we post on this "new" format they do not show up on your profile.  I have commented on several of these and when I click on my profile to see if it is there and if I can get back to such thread there is nothing on my profile.

redseat,

With the new commenting system, when you comment on stories, blog posts, team and player pages, those posts don't show up on your profile. The only posts that appear on your profile are the ones that are on the actual message boards. The reason why posts on stories, etc., don't appear on the profile is because the new commenting system uses a notification system to alert users when others respond to their posts. You can access the notification system by going to a comment you made on a story which uses the new commenting system. Once there, hover your mouse over your profile name and a drop down menu will appear with a 'Edit Setting' icon. Click on that and it will take you to the notification system.

That's great and all (thank you for your response by the way) but how in the world do you actually FIND your last post on those commenting system?  I mean you have to flip through tons of pages just to find your comment...  I don't like that at all.  If I write something on here I want to be able to immediately see it and then respond if anyone comments.

redseat,

This is just the first version of the new commenting system and I agree that users should have links to their old posts on their profiles. I’ll let the developers know of the issue and hopefully they can implement some sort of link system..

So how can we report a post in the new commenting system as Trolling, Personal Attacks...you know, to specify what the person is doing?

The Help Button changed it's format and no longer directs you to an Ask A Question to help report these screen names that use the new commenting system exclusively to avoid the Report Abuse button that is associated with regular posts.

Blitzylvania,

Once a user flags a comment in the new commenting system, the moderation staff has tools within the system that allows us to see the user's history of comments which we can use to determine if the user is trolling, using offensive language or violating the TOS.  You can still access the ‘Help’ link to report any abuse or if you feel more needs to be done, you can contact the moderation directly to address your concerns.

The help button though takes you to a new page format which is very inaccessible to the old format.

Noticed some important improvements in the commenting support here.  Thanks for the effort.

But now game comments remain archived forever, but blog comments go away after one day?!?!?!  What sense does that make?  If either of those should be ephemeral, it's the game comments.

(And, reading some prior Q&A on here, let me note that I'm referring to blogs being stripped of all comments the day after we leave a comment, not just users' ability to link to their comments from their profile.  Most of the time I participate in a thread on a story, the story the next day will show "0" for number of comments, and offer no place for new comments to be added.  Bizarre.)

The "new" commenting system is painfully slow.

Is it Livefyre code residing on CBS servers or is the whole thing hosted offsite now?  Either way *somebody* needs to get their servers upgraded.

I've tried several different browsers on several different platforms using several different high speed connections... always the same thing... waiting and waiting and more waiting.

I notice the ads pop up nice and fast though.

Sorry to hear you're experiencing some heavy lag with the comments stream. I haven't experienced lag this drastic--99% of comment streams load up just fine with minimal delay loads. We are, however, in the process of upgrading to the latest version of their platform, which should be live on the site by Thanksgiving. I'm told the latest version should will help increase performance speed across the board.

In the meantime, we'll try to replicate your experience and put in a bug to the folks at Livefyre.
