The Ditch

October 17, 2012 10:54 am

CBS wiped out the small hockey following as it is.    This thread is dedicated to griping about things loosely related to the NHL and saluting the accomplishments of morons posters like myself that have decided to "go down with the ship" as CBS drains the swamp known as regular hockey board posters.     I don't want sunshine or unicorns, I want to be entertained damnit.

Any thoughts loosely related to hockey or any thoughts at all?

How about the new avitar? I think I made it...dug my way over from Ohio :) And, yes, im crazy and have the paper work to prove it (as if that's necessary).

Keeping an eye on the CBA talks, curious to see how the PA responds. Hockey by November 2, sounds real good.

Drop the puck!!!

I hate pedal filers, hate em'.

How about the new avitar?
That's awesome.   Even better that he's sleeveless.

I probably should have put something along the lines of "life in a ditch".    Unlike many of my posts, I decided to keep the title short.    The ditch is for everyone who isn't all happy and sunny about the NHL right now.
Like having NHL on CBS main page and easy access to the message boards so we can all hate on each others teams in harmony once again.
I wonder if our fellow fans return when hockey is up and running.    CBS treats their hockey posters (and the bloggers that I've been very happy with) like Gary or the PA treats the NHL fans.

We should dig a ditch outside the office.    I hear they are bringing booze to the all night meetings.   We should have a place ready for them to fall/get pushed into.

The PA is joke, they'll be a bigger joke if they take this offer after all their displays of righteous indignation.       I hope they take it, but I think it would be at least a week of bartering before they call a vote.       I hope Gary is more flexible than I think he is going to be.     I can't imagine most of the big market teams want to lose games off of the schedule (Jacobs not included in that group).

First time blogger @ Bob's ditch.  Haven't read much yet, CBS has made it a pain to find stuff and then it is quickly deleted.  Go Winterhawks!  I'm not getting any warm fuzzy feeling from the Fehr team.  Keep up the great work Bob!

The NHL Phoenix Coyotes are moving to Chihuahua, Mexico where they will play as The Chihuahua Chihuahuas. Timmy Torres the owner of the Chihuahua team told ESPN that they are really excited about having a hockey team in Mexico and that all of the 400,000 season tickets have already been sold. When Torres was asked if the fact that they would be playing the games on an outdoor ice rink would cause a problem, he replied in Spanish 'No' (No). When reminded that the Chihuahuan summers can see temperatures as high as 124 degrees Torres just said 'No' (No). And when he was asked, "What time is it?" Torres replied 'No' (No). So it is fairly obvious that Torres does not quite yet have command of the English language like Salma Hayek and Paul Rodriguez do.

155 days since a Kane alcohol story.  237 days since a Toews driving story.  2227 days since Dipietro signed his contract.  3251 days still remain on that contract.  I'm dazed.

Brian Burke looks like he'll be getting a number of his wish-list items on the new CBA.   The Maple Leafs fans are probably happy for him.

Horcoff is a dbag.   The PA list of dbags continues to grow.   It's a shame that nobody will give him a contract he deserves.

Things I hate about the lockout:

Talk from either side that they feel bad for the fans
Players or franchise employess speaking/ranting about the negotiations.
The best hockey in town is a Vancouver affiliate
Did I mention players speaking about the negotiations?  I really want them to shut up and let Fehr speak instead.
I'm paying attention to NFL line play on a level I'm not comfortable with.
I'm getting bored rejoicing in the final destruction of the Easter bunny known as Lance Armstrong
The Big 10 is a joke
The Cardinals are still playing baseball and I can't hide from it.
I don't want to have to watch ESPN for pro-hockey.

I'll continue the list later.

welcome to the dark side Bob.

NCAA hockey started up, lots of games on if you have extended sports packages. Some of the most entertaining hockey you can watch.

Indeed. By the time this lockout is over you might even be a big Don Cherry fan (well, maybe). Did you see his comment about Guy Lefleure's comment. "The Flower" said, all the NHL'ers in Europe right now should stay there, because it makes more room for North Americans and Quebec'ers to play in the NHL. Don said in response: "Imagine if I had said that. Whoa". Don's right imo. He would have got hammered big time for a statement like that. Its happened before. To many players and ex-players forgot they have a highly paid representative these days, I guess.

Talk from either side that they feel bad for the fans
Talk is cheap. Settle the lockout and send us all coupons for NHL tickets or gear at an affordable price. Better yet, just play the game!

Darn ditch is turning into a swamp here today.

Yes, the NCAA hockey continues to get better.

Unfortunately, they aren't going to get the coverage they deserve until they open up the game a little more though.    Goals sell, good hockey only gets them so far, but I do like the progress and increased availability of the games.

The thing is that Don has yet to give me a reason that he doesn't believe in the statement.    Don and I have a long way to go before he gets to stay in the same ditch as me during a hockey game.    LeFleure was probably lucky so many of the greats from Europe weren't in the league when he did his damage and he should be more mindful of those stupid comments.      Great players can still be dbags.    I hope Cherry goes away from the NHL.      I think he would be fun to have down in the  states promoting hockey though, I think the buzz would do some good.    I would love to see a U.S. franchise overpay for some part time work of his to generate some buzz too.    Imagine if the Stars hired him for 15 games or something.     I can't stand him but he could do a ton of good for a bunch of franchises very quickly.     His wardrobe will be the most exciting on a man male since RuPaul or Rodman.     Get Cherry out of Canada, he's doing more harm than good up there I say.
